Anwyay, jpg4 is my favorite. It looks pretty nice.

i like unusual shots of plants, like the first and last, gives you a sense of how earth isnt just a globe you see from a distance but a huge ball where up is down and left is right. whats why i did the picture with earth at the top, because its counterintuitive, earth is supposed to be at your feet not your head!

Nice stuff, what software was this done in and where'd you get the image maps? Is it from that planetary maps site where the ex-advertising guy has made all the planet and moon maps?

any 3D program can do this but i used lightwave. the maps are from NASA's Blue Marble site.

Never heard of that one, the maps look a bit better than the ones I have. You got the URL for this place? My Earth is fine for mid shots but the map for close-ups is so large it bursts lightwave and it crashes out. Need more than half a gig of memory I suppose...

just search NASA for Blue Marble. They have some huge maps that kill my lightwave even tho i have 512 megs of ram. :) Make sure you view everything as wireframe not textured!!
