Re: Google Chrome pushes ahead with targeted ads based on your browser history

Time to switch browsers. I'm looking for recommendations. One thing I'm after is something that will stop any video or audio from autoplaying. The extension I've been using in Chrome stopped working for some videos several months back. I will be testing it against this one . you're crazy if you don...

Everybody wins CRS2! And I'll still have a job (working on Cygnus). Announced awhile back on Jan 14 but didn't see any updates in this thread.

no flight within 5 miles of an airport unless you contact the control tower/ATC, etc. Considering my backyard is a mere 7~ n.mi from an airport; um no. Some parts of the country are pretty much offlimits (AFAIK good portions of Ohio) due to that rule. This rule has all the hallmarks of being aggres...

Sitting on your phone still means you're paying the carrier subsidy w/o getting a new device for your money, so you have to weigh in your usage carefully and see if you actually need the unlimited... clearly Bean needs the unlimited though... I don't like defending Verizon, but 40GB on 3/4g is quite...

#12+ Welding glass works fine and is quite cheap on amazon. Ugly green tint though.

Transit of Venus taken through #14 welding glass taped to the lens hood of my 100mm macro http://i.imgur.com/XoHtb.jpg Really crappy quality, due to not having enough focal length and thus severe cropping and shooting through the clouds and a sketchy shaky tripod. Green tint comes from the welding g...

That's the LGPL. For the regular GPL, dynamic linking to a GPL library still counts as a derived work.

If you're looking for something a bit beefier than what Zaune is suggesting and capable of playing low-end games, I'd suggest an Lenovo X120e, which is around 500$. The other thinkpads are good if your requirements are beefier.

How well would BF3 run on a Core 2 Duo w/ a modern mid-range graphics card? I Currently have a 2.1GHz C2D (easily overclockable to 2.9, but haven't done that since I replaced my motherboard) w/ a rather aging 7600GT and 6 gigs of RAM. Could I get by with just dropping in a modern mid-range graphics ...

Battery life on the Nexus One was absolutely terrible, and the low RAM - even for a 1st gen droid - made the OS run like it was anemic. Low RAM? It had 512, which is still what the average single-core phone has. Prior to it, the most powerful Android phone was the original Droid, which had 256MB.I ...

Re: Google buys Motorola

The google phones (Nexus One) were made by HTC, and were actually pretty good- the problem was they weren't sold in retail stores which limited uptake. The Nexus S was made by Samsung and is/was available on Sprint and T-Mobile and was sold at Best Buy, but was slightly obsolete upon release.

I was under the impression that was more due to political reasons/infighting between the descendants of Genghis. They did manage to sack Baghdad and crush the Russians for a time after all.
