As much as I'd love to say Microsoft, Google, or Wal-Mart, I really can't because those companies are technically providing a standard that is driving their respective positions. In the case of Microsoft and Google, they're driving the technologies they use, which benefits everyone, without them, wh...

I've read reports of girls starting their period around 6-7 in some parts of the US. It's considered an anomaly, and is thought to be caused by EM radiation, pollution, and even the various trash we put in our food (preservatives, synthetic flavors and colors, etc.). They're pretty unsure of the lon...

A friend of mine and I reprogrammed a couple of the LED information kiosk signs at the Seattle Convention Center back in 2000 after a 2600 meeting there. All we needed was a laptop to run the terminal session to the sign over DB9 serial. The old version of the signs (they have since been upgraded to...

Awesome. I know where those two signs were too, as I live in Washington. WSDOT takes *WAY* too long to reprogram or remove those signs when the construction is over. I've seen them leave one up for literally over a month after the construction was done, people do periodically reprogram them with gib...

I would get a sushi platter. Sushi is my favorite food. If I was allowed to indulge in the use of some certain chemicals before or after the last meal, I would request a pipe loaded with a bowl of good weed to calm my nerves and put me at peace for my execution. Additionally, I think a great way to ...

To start with, it's my understanding that in the law as long as you are not breaking into a secured WiFi system (EG: WEP or WAP encrypted), then it is legal. Personally, I have no moral issues with jacking into someone's WiFi if they're too stupid to implement security measures. I do so all the time...

Kernel, the studies may show that pot does not cause problems behind the wheel, but even as an admitted pothead, I don't consider getting stoned and driving as an ok thing to do, it's still an inebrient. It may not be anywhere near as bad as alcohol, especially in experienced long-term users, but it...

To start with, I am not advocating driving high/stoned or drunk. However, I do want to say some things based on personal experience. 1) I will not drive drunk. I have done so only once, and that was a trip of about 2 blocks and I never exceeded 10mph, my logic on this was that if I could not get my ...

As for it being music or not, it's catchy, I like it, that's what matters to me, who cares if you don't like it.

56,894 files, 217.83GB :D

That's on just the main machine, I probably have another 5-6,000 MP3's on the other 4 machines in total.

LANparties, BT, and friends with huge CD collections are awesome. :)

Stick all the way. You have control of the vehicle and it's power, and you can make it do things you just can't do with an automatic. Nevermind the efficiency difference.

I drive an '01 Civic 4-door w/manual tranny. I get almost 44mpg on the freeway, and 35 in the city.

I would reccommend the Creative Zen Micro. It's a 5 (or 6GB) player for right around $200. Why I reccommend it: 1) Capacity vs. price 2) Reliability (My player survived being used at work for two months without issue till I quit. It was a yard construction job and the player was always being dropped...

I find the mid-lane traffic stops far more hazardous than the speeders they pull over. I used to have an ungodly caffeine habit. Cold turkey is the only way to quit, just like with cigarettes (which I also did for a while).
