Well, I enjoyed the BCSNC game, but then again I'm a Bama fan.

Re: NCAA Football 2012 Season
IMO, Notre Dame and Bama actually stack up well against each other's strengths. I expect a close and tough-fought game.
North Alabama didn't make the D2 playoffs for the first time in years, but we've got a new coach - well, he's an old coach who came back after a couple of decades.

Re: Revolution S1E4 "the Plague Dogs"
According to someone on another forum, they've now had lightning. Well, they had thunder, but guess the mysterious (insert anomaly here) thing doesn't affect lightning. Really, don't know why they didn't just base this on a massive world-wide EMP attack, but guess they couldn't have then said - no ...

Re: NCAA Football 2012 Season
Bama looked sloppy against Ole Miss. The Rebels also moved the ball effectively against the Tide. Lots of work to do in the off-week, and imagine Saban will be ripping into his kids and assistant coaches.

To be certain, their talking points are different, but both of them would continue deficit spending, foreign interventionism, and the useless, failed, and expensive "war" on drugs. I'm just not enough of a sucker to swallow the talking points hook, line and sinker like so many.

Re: [Official Thread] 2012 US PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION
Why send an absentee ballot in for a person who has 0 chance of winning. I mean, it's effectively a non-vote and simply a waste of your time, no? From my own point of view, there is no real difference between Mr. Obama and Mr. Romney, save to which political special interest groups and lobbyists po...

Wife and I went on a cruise, came back, and found that SWTOR was going F2P. As we just like to play the story lines cooperatively with each other, now wondering if we shouldn't dump our subscriptions and play for free once it commences.

Wife and I had to move to a non-dead server; gave us an opportunity to start new characters. Mine is a Chiss Republic trooper.

Still playing cooperatively with my wife, but my server is all but dead. Really, if I could play cooperatively with my wife on KOTOR 1 & 2, I'd not bother with this MMO.

And good luck beaming a torpedo through a shielded ISD. Unlike Trek-verse, Imperial ships have two types of shields.

Re: Morons in need of Imerial-Level Smack-Down
For a lot of the EU we'd probably be better off if it weren't. Not that the tactic of ignoring the EU isn't already counterproductive anyway-a lot of the EU examples inevitably result in considerably lower numbers for the Wars side than the movies do. :D Can see your point there: Have been reading ...

Indeed, though the latest response is but a couple of months old. Just dislike seeing such overt stupidity go unchallenged.Ted C wrote:Good grief, I just noticed that the linked article is years old.

Re: Morons in need of Imerial-Level Smack-Down
Shielded Trek ships against unshielded TIE fighters? Yeah, I'd imagine so, though the only question would then be how much punishment could a Trek ship take from the TIE fighters' main weapons before they were all dispatched?

Morons in need of Imerial-Level Smack-Down
Okay, so it's been several years since I had fun debating this stuff, but I know many here enjoy picking apart weak-kneed arguments, so I cordially invite you to go post here and counter such idiocy as the following: okay, the Enterprise might be smaller than a star destroyer, but with Worf at the g...

Still playing, though my server (Fort Garnik) is mostly a ghost town now. Actually works out fine, since I really just wanted to play cooperatively with my wife. Darn shame there aren't other Star Wars RPGs out there that allow cooperative play without the MMO monthly price tag.

Still enjoying the game, but mostly because it's the only Star Wars RPG-style game my wife and I can play cooperatively. If it fails and goes FTP, no skin off my nose, and we'll save $30 a month.

Have decided my vote will go to Dr. Paul, whether he's on the ticket or not. All other candidates (including the one occupying the WH) would do nothing about our crushing debt , other than pander to their base (promising "cuts" that aren't really cuts on only politically-popular programs t...
