Re: Canada's Helicontainer-Ships (RAR!)
Speaking as a Canadian with some idea of what goes on in our military and government. No way we'd actually be stupid enough to sell these to China over other allied nations from a political and social POV. Economically they'll just reproduce them while ignoring international patent laws like they al...

Re: "Star Wars Resistance" is Disney's Newest Animated TV show
I doubt that Disney would bother fleshing out a villan such as snoke in this case. I expect this show to be even worse then rebels, but still hope to be pleasantly surprised.

I'll reserve judgement for when it actually comes out and I can watch it. Until then, I'll enjoy the look of the new troopers sand accept that in a galactic civilization your going to have variation.

Re: Humanity invents FTL but every star system outside out our Solar System has been claimed by Aliens
I'd be more interested in how every single system in the entire galaxy ended up getting claimed (if they are, that's a level of infrastructure that we should of noticed, especially for local-ish systems like Alpha Centauri.) If we find they are lying once we actually send some scouts out, well diplo...

Re: Dinosaur Island (RAR).
The stuff in the ocean is going to somewhat be an issue. Thing is depending on the numbers everything might get out-competed depending on the local sea life where the island is. Having a local crustacean-hunter devour all the ammonite spawn when they reproduce since they have obsolete-ish defense pr...

I doubt they are actually HTL's. They don't perform like them by having arcs and smaller ranges then what we have seen before.

Re: Something big
Arguably yes, but in a more sensor-orientated setting perhaps its best to be on the ship with the most survivability, since sensors and jamming is going to determine what info is available rather then location. Its Star Wars, sticking the commanding officer on the biggest ship seems to happen a lot....

Something like this is a bit more interesting from a versus point then the usual cherry-picking and dickwaving you get trying to do tech comparisons. Its more intuitive with a healthy dose of military tactics and psychology instead. One suggestion for the imperials would honestly be Vader, who when ...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi release thread (spoilers)
Plot demands that characters must survive, hence the incompetence of villains in any Disney movie... On a more serious standpoint, might be orders by Ren not to kill those ID's as Rey's companions (unlikely), or the gunners were focussing on the still-somewhat intact defense turrets rather then flee...

Re: Why no new Star Wars RTS game? And what would you like to see?
I honestly suggest Phoenix Rising, although the newer version is still in demo. Its a great mod with a high attention to detail and an intuitive upgrade system, changes the way space combat works by removing targetable hard points which is my one dislike. It makes ground fun though by effectively re...
