Re: Ant Man and the Wasp (spoilers)
Let me put it this way. What'd I do on 9/11? Went to school. Did we actually do work? No. But about all we did was watch news. We still went from class to class. Someone as focused as Pym, probably still going to do his thing. In the space of a single day an alien attack on New York happens(again), ...

Re: Ant Man and the Wasp (spoilers)
Be straight about how you read the characters in this movie. Really. This was a very personal movie. The only one with any trust for any in that group is Lang. The Pyms have no use for Stark, and were hella derisive of Cap. And they had their priorities. They had a possibility of getting their damn ...

Re: Ant Man and the Wasp (spoilers)
I'm not sure I'd call Ghost a villain. So much as a victim of circumstance that happened to be acting in desperation in opposite direction of them and they were perfectly willing to help them once killing Janet was no longer on the table. In fact, Janet was the first person to help her, and they sta...

Re: Thanos vs... (WARNING: likely spoilers for various summer movies).
As a total aside as food for thought for (8): Winter and Summer know the purpose of Winter and what Winter's really doing, and what Summer does to steer them straight insofar as their tinkering in what I'll just call the 'mortal realms'. Remember Mother Summer herself briefed Harry Dresden and gave ...

Re: Thanos vs... (WARNING: likely spoilers for various summer movies).
Well, keep in mind the hilariously unique position characters like Odin are in. For all Odin is not Norse Odin anymore, he's still literally a god damn god as opposed to merely..."merely"..."Marvel's Odin" and these are literally the kind of characters that can throw down with Th...

Re: Thanos vs... (WARNING: likely spoilers for various summer movies).
(8) is a curious thing to pin down. Because the Winter Knight still has summoning spells. You take that list of names and you're mainly limiting it to the Avengers without even giving them an African army. But...the Winter Knight still has summoning spells. If he gets that circle up. Which character...

Re: Avengers: Infinity War (massive spoilers!)
Either reason is pretty stupid. There's plenty of scope for spectacle even without powers for Hawkeye or Black Widow, as proven by every scene they have in any movie they're in. i mean take Cap and Winter Soldier out of Winter Soldier and you've got a good basis for a BW movie. Or go full James Bon...

Re: Oklahoma City gunman shot, killed by bystanders
By that same token, CCW permit-holders are not a reliable defense for society at large against criminals. As private individuals who carry their weapons for self-defense, they are under no obligation to risk their lives to subdue or kill armed criminals, nor can they reasonably be expected to do so...

Re: Avengers: Infinity War (massive spoilers!)
That's the catch. We have a fairly big space based attack, and we can make a few assumptions since we know at least one character managed to get into the lab by at least stealth-based means. The question is if they attacked on more than one front but we only watched the front the characters were on....

Re: Avengers: Infinity War (massive spoilers!)
I did note that the numbers the Wakandans mustered didn't seem very large. A few hundred? One would think they could do better, but they did have pretty short notice. One problem here is that Wakanda had to wreck two tribes minimum in Black Panther so their numbers may not have been up to par. Neve...

They've also got no head protection and no pouches in which it could be plausibly kept. Two dozen sarin shells; casualties - total. Except perhaps T'challa himself and even that is reaching. That's classic movie meme. T'Challa was the only one with a legit costume with full helmet where one can eas...

Re: Avengers: Infinity War (massive spoilers!)
I think the two key Infinity Stones for the future are the Time Stone and the Spirit Stone. Why? Thanks to both Doctor Strange and Gamora. They will affect both the plot and Thanos' behavior. Hell, one has already affected Thanos' behavior. He could've wrecked a lot of fights with four infinity ston...

Re: Avengers: Infinity War (massive spoilers!)
Didn't Thor evolve beyond the need for weapons in his last movie? Wasn't that the big lesson? That he doesn't need a weapon because he himself is the god of thunder and not the god of hammers? But now he is apparently a god of big axes. As an aside if that axe ended up harmlessly bouncing off of Ta...

Re: Avengers: Infinity War (massive spoilers!)
To be fair to them, the Wakandans have never had to fight an equivalent technology force before; they haven't done war since before the advent of artillery as a major force. We in the real world did a lot of bleeding before we figured out close-drill and infantry charge are both obsolete. Of course...

Re: Dr. Erskine survives (Captain America RAR
Banner and Abomination are offshoots of trying to duplicate the same work and failing. I think Banner was closer than people both in and out of universe assume. The MCU doesn't go into his backstory much, but it's pretty well established that even before he became the Hulk, Banner had a lot of ange...

Banner and Abomination are offshoots of trying to duplicate the same work and failing. The thing you need to remember is that there are literally plenty of criminals who'd literally be willing to shoot someone dead but at the same time ask you "What do you think I am? A Nazi?" Plenty of th...

Red Skull might be exaggerating because that was literally taking an evil person and magnifying evil. Erskine took a good person and magnified good. That's the only two examples we have. We literally don't know what a bellcurve would do. Landing on top of a bell curve. Slightly to the side? It's one...

Well. There's a proverbial and literal reason he chose Steve Rogers for Subject 0. Imagine what would happen if they started using it on your average WW2 army ranger and not just their abilities but their ethics and morals get magnified.

Re: The MCU visits Westeros
That's a fair point, there's really nothing in Westeros that can stop Hulk apart from (maybe) Dragons and the Night King's magic. So at least assume Tony has the wristbands he had in Civil War even though he's already demonstrated he can hide an Iron Man suit in anything the size of a horse carriag...

Hartsfield-Jackson airport in Atlanta is one of the world's busiest airports, in large part due to the fact that it's the Delta hub. I don't know if Delta can actually pack up and move without spending far more than that $40 million per year. They left Cincinnati for less 10-15 years ago. And right...

Unrelated to the topic of discussion, they don't come right out and say it, but I suspect that the Soul Gem is in the middle of the vibranium mound. Wakandan tech, particularly the updated Black Panther suits, has a similar aesthetic to other Infinity stone-based MCU tech. And between the herb elix...

My favorite part of this whole thing were people were trying to micromanage their retirement plans all through last week and trades on things like that were up 12 times higher than normal as the market was falling. And during the times the market was having its little upshoots they didn't make anyth...

That memo is a bit uselessly ballsy and Nunes can cry me a river if that's what he wants to whine about after extending Section 702. The irony is quite biting if he wants to act this paranoid about the FBI but do that first. This is pure politics and about all but mostly names that have either retir...

Well, the Bundy Ranch isn't really the Agents fault as much as it is the lawyers. I have a hilarious idea. Next time let's not withhold evidence.
