Would you eat dog soup?

While browsing Dave's ESL Forum, I was surprised to find that many expats working in South Korea admit to trying boshintang (dog soup). Here are the three key links: http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=17893 http://www.eslcafe.com/forums/korea/viewtopic.php?t=476 http://www.eslcafe.c...

That said, what are you looking for? Governments, International groups, regional (and usually specific-to-environment) groups, or community action groups all look at a different slice of the pie and depending on what you want to protect, success comes from different directions. Are you trying to fi...

Impressive.

The larger the star, the lower the density. I'm not sure of the exact figures, but a star that big would have a very low density.

Rating animal protection societies

Do we have any experts on animal protection societies here? I know that PETA is at the bottom of the barrel, but I'd like to know how those with past knowledge / experience would rate other societies such as WSPA, ILPH, RSPCA, and CANFACT. What do you know of their honesty and integrity?

To add: I believe that the best definition of "growing up" has nothing to do with "giving up". Rather, it has more to do with expanding your horizons. Yes, I still like Star Wars, but I also like The Godfather, Schindler's List and The Shawshank Redemption. Yes, I still like Arth...

Who is more mature ... the single guy who has spent years writing a half-decent science fiction novel, or the married guy who gets his rocks off over Jerry Springer and (insert your country here) Idol? Re: Would serial child murderers deserve this punishment?

My sentients exactly. Although, I have no problem giving a person a second chance, even a rapist or murderer. Serial rapists and murders have, by repeating their crime, nullified that chance. First time, and single incident offenders, would get a second chance, but they would pay heavily for any su...

That had far too much of the author embedded in it. I suggest he seek help. I think it speaks volumes that the chaplain is the only sympathetic character in the story. Perhaps that was the author's "self"? It was a bit of a strange move to have the entire story told from the murderer's P....

Re: Would serial child murderers deserve this punishment?

I'm uninterested in hypothetical "afterlife" punishment of such criminals. Put a bullet in their head, burn the bodies and use the ashes to fertilize crops to feed the starving people of the world. The story isn't about the afterlife, but neither is it about any "legal" punishme...

Ever rushed to the toilet during a movie?

Yesterday morning, I took a "small" Coke into the cinema to see Kill Bill. I'd already had my breakfast coffee less than two hours earlier. My bladder started stinging about three quarters of the way through the movie. Then the stage was set for the big showdown in Tokyo, and I told myself...
