Re: STO questions

Lord Revan wrote:just a quick question but making foundry missions costs just in game currency right, meaning I don't need any Zen for it?
Correct. 10k dilithium = 4 Foundry mission slots.

I just wish they would quit making everything cost dil, or raise how much it's worth to fleet projects.

Re: STO questions

The Foundry seems to be deactivated for me is that intentional or not? Every time they do a major update (i.e. an expansion pack or a new season), they take the editor and reviewing systems offline and do an automated republish of all missions, then give us a week with the editor turned on and revi...

Any word on reopening registrations?

I got a PM in Star Trek Online from somebody who wants to register for our forum but can't because registration is disabled. Any word on when it'll be lifted again?

Re: Westboro Church chased out of town by an angry mob

Sorry, don't see anything in the text of the 14th that guarantees Freedom of Speech against City Councils. Yes, but I strongly doubt there's any city council in the United States willing to try it and risk getting sued. Ten will get you a five, the judge it ends up in front of will make it a judici...

Re: STO questions

Soooo... What are the best Marks, or are they a good-for-different-stuff kind of situation? Because I've picked up some Nukara Marks (Nukara is bloody annoying, BTW) and am semi-interested in picking up some nicer ground weapons and armour. Unless you're running a specific couple of builds (like if...

Re: Westboro Church chased out of town by an angry mob

There's a line between "exercising free speech" and "willfully provoking people to violence by delivering a calculated insult." WBC's preferred tactics ignore that line. I think, honestly, xkcd #1357 from a few days ago sums it up pretty well: http://imgs.xkcd.com/comics/free_sp...

Re: What is the canon of Doctor Who?

While I'm relieved I'm not the one who had to bring up the canon/cannon issue, um-laser cannon, turbolaser cannon, ion cannon, plasma cannon, transform cannon... I think the 'cannon' definition of 'fires bigass physical projectiles by way of chemical explosives' definition of cannon went the way of...

It does when the other humans in the squadron note the guy has a distinctive odor but actually rather like it, and he also objects to the smell of the other nonhuman members.

Chuck does Transformers (2007)

He came at it from an interesting angle IMHO, criticizing it mostly for throwing together so many plots that barely anything got sufficient screen time.

Re: STO questions

My fleet typically goes through and boots anybody who hasn't been active in a while (there's a hard membership cap), but they do send out a fleet-wide warning a day or two ahead of time.

Re: STO questions

I'm no vet by any standard but I'd say you can probably make due with just ensign Sci if you build an offense based cruiser (for a tanky one I'd think you'd need at least Lt.), there's engineer powers that can replace a lot if not most of your science defensive skills and you'll probably won't have...

And the frakking Borg Unimatrix plasma bolts. They're a lot harder to deal with in my Vor'cha than in my Avenger beam cruiser.

That is way cool. The only issue I can think of is the potential for infection. Best antiproton, frankly, is still Fleet Mk 12. No mumbo-jumbo, just a free CritD modifier, and higher base damage than anything from the Voth lockbox or that's available for free. I run six Fleet antiproton beams on my Avenger (four front, two back), the omnidirectional beam from "Sphere of In...
