And whilst we are at major armament just how many guns can you physically cram into a design? Like say you wanted turrets, casemates, the lot. How many guns will the game let you have? Also, how many of those can be of the biggest and heaviest kind?

Re: The Utility of Paratroopers in Future Conflicts?

Large scale assaults such as in WW2 no, no way. But there is still plenty of room for more limited deployments. The Russians even maintain armored airborne units (yes with actual IFV's and tanks) for that role. It's just that you'll be seeing 3-5 aircraft dropping people as opposed to 300.

Re: General Police Abuse Thread

Does it really matter what we do or do not do here? I mean its not like this is a sprawling community with millions of members all or a majority of which are violent vigilantes just itching for an excuse to go dish out some lynch mob justice. The closest thing we have to something like that is a per...

Can you be sure that they can be trusted? I mean, under any other circumstances sure. But can we really be sure that they didn't just take one look at Trump and say "lol nope" and than decide not to prosecute? What would you have done in their position?

Re: A Sengoku era Japanese enclave in Oregon (RAR!)

They aren't shitty. They are just different because the requirements for them were different. His quote even says as much. The terrain in most of Japan simply does not lend it self to the kind of large flat field battles that spawned the Mongol cavalry hordes or the European knightly charge. And thu...

Re: Uk Referendum on The EU Announced for 23rd June.

You are again treating non-binding referendums in the same way as you would a binding election. They are not and Parliament is free to act in the way it thinks serves the country best. I think you misunderstood this whole democracy concept. In the democratic world governments are not supposed to le...

I would very much like to see your source for that. Because it sounds insanely dodgy to me. If their bows really were that useless they would not have been used at all. And either way any effectiveness data you pull out is going to have been assessed based on the assumption that the weapon is going ...

Re: A Sengoku era Japanese enclave in Oregon (RAR!)

One thing to consider is that the Japanese maintained an archery tradition right through the period and used mixed arrow and gun formations right up and through the 17th century. And a Japanese archer with what for them is rudimentary armor and metal tipped arrows is going to be as devastating a foe...

Re: Worldwide gun control disscussion

And just because something is designed to kill doesn't mean it will automatically cause harm or is dangerous or even needs banned. Swords are designed to kill. They suck at cutting wood, probably can't play baseball with them, and I doubt a chef could find a use for them. But they are not banned, n...

I know nothing of your politics so I must ask directly. If you wonted Trump to win which VP pick do you think would give him the best odds of doing so? Alternatively which would give him the worst odds?

Given that this is a setting where the two species can breed and produce viable offspring I do not see it as being an unreasonable assumption that they can also digest and gain nutrition from each others food.

Re: You Rule the Citadel (RAR).

I know absolutely zero about the setting, what with not having seen the film. But in scenario #1 I'd say that the thing to do would be to have a sitdown with the woman and try and work things out. I do not know what her problem is, but an educated guess based on the original setting tells me that wh...

I just do not see them ever growing large and strong enough to oppose america in the 19th century and beyond. A Mexican-American war but with these guys instead of Mexico has the potential to exterminate them easily. So I do not really see them retaining independence into the modern age. That's all.

Re: Is it possible to devise the voting system to prevent post result regret?

You are trying to create a solution to a problem that does not exist. The post election regret you mention is not an expression of the system being somehow flawed but of the people being flawed. It's that simple. When ever there is a vote with more than one option to chose from someone is by definit...

You say you are fine with a company running itself into the ground in order to make sure custome...

Just another example of the people who lost being unwilling to admit to this or resign them self to the fact and instead engaging in mental contortions, conspiracy theories and really everything and anything they can to try and win anyway, at least in their minds. Pathetic. I can't wait to see how l...
