Yeah but I've thought of it years ago, as I'm sure other people have thought of it too. A pretty standard thing to at least attempt.Darth Tedious wrote:

Not to mention the fact that a Gamer who spends his time in a Holodeck will be far more physically active than one who sits in front of a TV or Computer, let alone one who uses something like the Matrix.

Cesario, that might work fine against the Dominion, but up against the Empire? not so much.

Re: Star Wars Galaxy: Now?
^ That implies that we should factor in Lucas's creation of the series at all, and that we should assume he did it through simple radio waves etc rather than say, a UFO with a recording on it or something. Then again I personally feel that "A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away" should...

Re: power source better that matter-antimatter
You could presumably use something like a hyperspace tap or a ZPM or something equally exotic, which don't actually burn fuel but instead siphon energy from another universe, but to my knowledge nothing like that ever turned up in Trek. Aren't Tetryon reactors more or less that? since Tetryons are ...

The forked ISD carrier design I've seen a few times, the Relentless from "I.M.P.S.: The Relentless" being one example.

What the hell I can't edit my post, even though I accidentally hit "submit" instead of "preview"
But I can edit this one... was the timeframe to edit posts reduced dramatically recently?

Or, as Dinobot once said: "If the future can be changed.......if these disks only record one path of all the myriad ways the cosmos might conform.....then their power is infinite! And yet limited....for they could be used but once, and in that change be rendered fiction forever more....."...

Re: Your in charge of the Federation or the Empire
Prediction is fairly easy when you have a record of when they opened gunports. Future briefings are wonderful things. Very funny with the time travel wank, but your future breifings will be useless the moment you act on them, the future is always in motion after all. I think you're knowledge of hyp...

They're also full of enough holes that you can fly a starship through them. Except for the fact that the Death Star didn't have holes, otherwise they wouldn't have gone through turbulance when they flew in. It does however have rudimentary shielding as described in the Death Star novel, so it's a s...

Re: Your in charge of the Federation or the Empire
Personally, I think it's more fun trying to find a way for the Federation to pull a come-from-behind victory off. If we make use of the Subspace Transporter, we can neutralize the shielding and firepower disparity by just beaming antimatter bombs next to the reactor cores of enemy ships, past armor...

those were HTLs, and they were too slow to track the X-wings, which is why they sent the TIE Fighters. The ICS states under the paragraph all about the HTL that in it's close-fighting, fast tracking mode the turret can rotate in under 3 seconds. Admitedly they wouldn't have much point in going full ...

I think Dr. Franklin said it best in Babylon 5 "The human body is an amazing thing, It can cure itself, or it can simply decide one day that the world is too painful to deal with and won't cooperate no matter how hard you try to heal it." I'm sure the Force choke didn't do her any favours.

Re: Worst Star Trek vs Star Wars fanfiction you have read
Yeah, if I'm not mistaken firepower was intentionally balanced out so the story could be interesting Actually I think that was explained a little in the story. Apparently the heavy turbolasers traversed too slowly to track most of the more agile Federation ships, and so the SDs had had to rely on t...

I'd imagine that after the Peregrine fighters reasonable level of success (I seem to recall them blowing up a few Galor class ships in "Sacrifice of Angels") All of the major powers might rethink their "No Fighters" policy. While non-canon, I do like the idea of Star Trek: Invasi...

Re: Can Federation destroy Death Stars
Seems to me such a vital system would be more intelligently located deep within the ship. They should probably also bury the bridge inside the ship to avoid something embarrassing like that from happening at all. In Zahn's Outbound Flight , then-Commander Thrawn gives a very good reason for not bur...

Re: Star Wars firepower: embarrassingly bad, like their tact
Also, a note on core ejection. If they plan to eject their main power source seconds before it explodes, surely that just leaves them with a super-size photon torpdeo beneath their ship with nothing to power the shields? I'm not sure, but I think the warp core just powers the warp drive. (I've hear...
