Man, what is with people and this robot cop bullshit? Its clearly a helmeted cop with a voice box and vision system.
The only thing stupider is claiming its Spock.

Its on Earth, note the sunlight coming in from all the windows. The bay might be part of that starbase or something, through the shape of it... that thing might just fit in the bigger ass of the new Enterprise.

The Corruptor is the best example of that. Slow paced drama turned into a buddy cop action movie.Bounty wrote:Could it be that an exhilarating, attention-grabbing trailer, even if it belies the actual movie, is a sound marketing technique?

Hard to tell, the scenes with it in construction go by pretty quickly and other scenes with it lacked clear reference points. How big did it look in the trailer?

Re: Size of the new Enterprise
The best way to judge its size would be to grab a cap of its construction from the full trailer. There is a full ship shot with plenty of stuff around it to scale with.

Re: The Star Trek trailer
Hmm. If Pike dies, then they are really tearing canon a new asshole. Have you read all of what they've seen Nero do in the 20 minute preview? He's basically a new timeline generator. Anyway, I saw Quantum of Solace tonight (because I am a gigantic Bond fan and a new ST trailer is just icing on that...

Re: Cain's Last Stand(Spoilers !) [Warhammer 40.000]
The Cain books actually make the 40k verse seem somewhat sane, livable and populated with likable - if a bit silly - people. They also subvert a lot of the current background fluff, thanks to Amberly being way into the future of 40K. The current time frame of the universe is basically treated as &q...

Re: The Star Trek trailer
Thanatos, that doesn't solve the problem. Well: I've known quite a few people who have started like Kirk but managed to grow out of it and become excellent leaders. A lot of times, all it takes is actual responsibility to snap someone out of it, other times they need a kick in the ass. I imagine th...

I think this is the best part of the 20 minute screening, from a different article Scotty explains that his experimental beaming worked on fruit but he said "didn’t turn out so well for Admiral Archer’s beagle" Also, a critical plot detail should be mentioned that makes the early scenes wi...

And a perfect example of the standard for non-epitaph hate speech just fell in my lap.

It has to be that at a minimum, around that bad for it to be clear cut hate speech.

Re: WTF is it with SB.com?
Sorry Thanatos, I like your moderation on other sections, but whatever is tying your hands in politics reflects very badly on you, and the continuous allowance of Senmut, Crossover, and Pax to post shows that the board has an unhealthy right wing bias Actually I banned Senmut (twice because I accid...

Well, now I'm curious. Did nobody have a pistol handy? Bayonet? Wouldn't have helped if we had them: He managed to ambush, disarm and generally mess up everyone. Had he been playing for keeps, we would have been dead before we could draw a pistol to replace the rifle he just took. I would definatel...

Re: Star Trek, WH40k and Right Wing fans.
remember reading somewhere in the Star Trek forum that hard core right wing conservatives seem to be drawn to Star Trek because of things like the enforced conformity of Federation culture and the dark militant atmosphere of DS9. I have to say, that's a complete load of nonsense. :D Heck, a lot of ...

How the hell does he look 15? This is what someone who is 15 looks like:My big issue with this is that Kirk looks about 15.
Man, TV has really screwed up peoples idea of how old people should look.

Minor correction I am obligated to make: That's a Marine uniform (Service Alphas) he changes into after the explorer.
Although bizarrely, he's wearing all 3 Rifle Marksmanship badges. I hope someone in the costume department got fired for that one!

20, all ethnicities. Marine. Big, strong, silent. You want him on your side. You don't want him mad at you. Lacks control over his temper in non combat situations. His past is a mystery but it's clear something dark formed the hard shell around him. Yet, there must also be some moral center because...
