New Dune adaptation from "Arrival" "Blade Runner 2049" director

The book will be split into 2 films. Timothee Chalamet to play Paul Atreides Rebecca Ferguson to play Lady Jessica. I wish Frank Hipper was still around so I could see his opinion. This also makes me nostalgic for all the Jodorowsky bashing from this board's early years; a few years ago a documenta...

Re: The 2016 US Election (Part IV)

https://youtu.be/0ywbihP3hg4 I'm a little baffled by this video. Cenk says Pennsylvania and Michigan are slipping away from Hillary, and using New Hampshire would be disastrous. But I can't find any polls saying Hillary is in danger of losing Pennsylvania and Michigan, and New Hampshire is only four...

Re: Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Maybe it's just me, but the way the Death Star is portrayed in these trailers actually leaves me disappointed in how it is visualized in the original film. Here, the visuals make it look absolutely titanic, powerful, and invincible. I found myself whispering "wow" to myself as I watched t...

Re: The 2016 US Election (Part III)

So... about this Assange character. I doubt he has something real on Clinton, but if he's able to get something fabricated then it could be a very dangerous turn of events, especially considering how prone people are to the bandwagon effect. I'm not into the doldrums I was before, but I'm definitel...

Re: Duck Dynasty star makes homophobic remarks

Well, the outcry against this is one more example of how so many American's don't understand the specifics of the First Amendment and how it does not guarantee that there should be no consequences of any kind for what you say. If anything, the guy probably has specifics in his contract about how he'...

Thanks, you two. this is really helpful. What needs to be: The girl's puzzles are integral to the plot, so the clockwork apprentice idea is one that I will definitely keep. What also is important is that she is into other more masculine pursuits. She was a street kid who befriended the shop owner an...

Research on 18th cent. Smithery/mechanics help

OK, to start with- I have done and will do more research on this topic. There's the old story that goes something like this: the child prodigy who plays every note of a classical music piece perfectly and the adult who says he played it, but didn't feel it. So I am asking for any help, be it advice,...

Re: Avengers out on DVD

According to the Thor commentary, the stripping of Thor's armor was simply a callback to a movie Kenneth Branagh liked (I forget the name) that had a military officer being stripped of his medals. It may look like it should be more significant than it is, but its just visual storytelling.

Re: New Judge Dredd film

To be fair, if that is Judge Anderson, then her character didn't tend to wear a helmet in the comics either. That is Judge Anderson, and in the script she specifically says she's not wearing the helmet because it interferes with her abilities- the premise of the movie is that she's with Dredd on a ...

Re: So I just saw Battleship...

I knew there would be something monumentally stupid about the plot; a featurette touts how they're using real science in talking about habitable zones around stars and how the plot spun off of Stephen Hawking's warnings against letting aliens know where we are- and then we saw a scene were a radio t...

Re: Conan (spoilers ok)

Besides, I've read some of those original books, and they suck too. The author spends so much time wanking about Conan's masculine power (over both enemies and women) that one can only imagine it was entirely written with one hand. When you find out that he was a loser who couldn't nail a woman to ...

Loki, as near as I can tell, was Odin's blood-brother: Do you remember, Odin, when in bygone days we mixed our blood together? For years I thought only someone like Arnold could play Conan. Then I read the story "Beyond the Black River," and I realized within a few pages that he never should have been cast. Thank Mitra for an Arnold free Conan movie- hopefully we can put the lumbering, slow-witted oaf who was fool...

Harry grabbing Voldemort and jumping off a platform. I presume that's the end of his trippy near-death experience where he talks to Dumbledore in King's Cross. Or perhaps it's just an addition by the filmmakers. In Entertainment Weekly, they revealed that his battle with Voldemort is more protracted.

And finally, the bustier makes her breasts look like implants. I don’t know if Adrienne Palicki has fake tits or not, but even if she does, there’s no reason why the costume should draw attention to the fact. Green screen when connect RCA TV to PC

I noticed that an RCA flat screen TV that I hardly ever use has an input so it can be used as a PC monitor; I had a flat panel PC monitor that I had to stop using because there was something wrong with the menu button; it would continuously bring up the picture menu, scroll through, and often times ...
