Re: Shep gets Dead Space (Technical Review)

I played Dead Space when it was fairly new. I also found that the POV annoying after a while. I'm also incapable of finding 3rd person shooters scary. Not once, not ever, so all the work done on the level design went to waste. At most i might get startled when a monster comes out of a closet, but th...

Bourne Ultimatum. That movie's shaky camera crossed the line between in-your-face action enhancing camera gimmick and just plain bad cinematography for me, i had to leave because it was so annoying it made me want to punch someone, the annoyance was only made greater by the fact that it seemed like ...

Re: GOVT IT to be brought kicking and screaming into 21st Cen

I actually do have a floppy disk in my gaming computer, it's the last part remaining from the first gaming computer i assembled about 10 years ago, and since motherboards and power supplies keep supporting it i just keep installing it. Haven't used it in years, though, wouldn't miss it. I've long si...

The 'nade was done pretty poor in the fight as well. By the time the pirate found his grenade, time to light it, trow it to the knight and the time between explosion, the knight could have galopped into another country. I'm sure the grenade was effective to trow at the ship you're about to board bu...

Re: Fuck Steam is an annoying piece of shit

There recently was a pretty big patch for DOW II, when Chaos Rising was released, i don't know exactly how big it was though, i just left it overnight when it became obvious it wasn't going to be done right away.

Also, if you don't care about the patches you can just disable automatic updating.

Does this mean we can now officially apply the "Oh yeah? Well that's what the America hating socialists do. Why do you have America?" argument against the pundits?

Re: Why do people gripe about not understanding action movies?

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned nBSG taking shakycam so far that during a conversation between two people in the same room, they can go 30 seconds without a single focused shot of either participants face. This adds versimilitude if you're a farsighted quadriplegic. I think The Bourne Ultimatum ...

It wouldn't have meant anything for Apple, even though MS != Bill Gates, with him absent the market would still simply had gone to whoever was the first one to come along with a clone friendly OS backed up by some major manufacturer.

Having never suffered anything worse than colds, 2 broken fingers and the odd stomach aches, i guess i would be alive, but my mother and second brother die when I'm 5 (emergency slightly premature c-section, but they are both perfectly healthy otherwise, a shame). My dad dies as i turn 23 due to dia...

This thread made me remember this old Onion article.

I generally agree that WW2 needs to go as far as politics go, but to be honest I never tire of the games and movies, and i don't see it vanishing from our culture unless something even bigger happens.

Re: New laptop freezes a ton.

Hey, for starters, did you do a fresh reinstall of windows or take any other action to eliminate the OEM installed bloatware? If not, what are you waiting for? That's the first thing that needs to be taken care of as they cause about 98% of all problems in out of the box laptops. Also, you want to d...

Re: Tell me about Mass Effect for the PC.

The inventory is definitely not the best thing the game has going for itself, but it doesn't trip all over itself either like it does on consoles. On PC it's pretty much just unremarkable. The combat is not that bad either for an RPG. It's well worth the 20 bucks.

It's not, it was developed using Steamworks for DRM, stat tracking and achievements. It's pretty much guaranteed that it's going to be available for like 50% off in a few months, though.

You are an idiot. Just a few weeks ago huge data security scandals became known - aka companies selling collected info to third parties for profit, who then used that info to bother people with ads and subscriptions and all that nonsense - so it is not like this is tinfoil hat nonsense and that nob...

Also, to those wondering about the reason the demo it's only available on Steam, it's because the game has been developed to make use of the Steamworks framework that all Valve games use, achievements and all that, it's never going to be available separately.

1. You don't have to put any personal information if you don't want to, you can use everything throwaway. 2. You can make an account with fake information for each game, if your deranged mind wishes so, and never buy online, retail only. 2. If you want to buy anything online, you can use Paypal, and...

The war on Iraq wouldn't have happened simply because Obama, Gore, or almost anyone else wouldn't be both under pressure to grant billionaire contracts to daddy's buddies and actually be corrupt enough to drag the country down for them.

If you like Sam & Max and Homestarrunner.com, you'll love it.
