post-theatrical release changes to TPM: extended podrace--both opening grid and second lap (however an even longer version can be seen in the deleted scenes) air taxi through coruscant trisha biggar replaced with Twilek also, because of the air taxi sequence, a rather beautiful establishing shot of ...

Background plates are just background plates. The film would be considered totally in-studio, even if the special effects guys technically had to leave their computer stations. Otherwise no film would be technically "all in-studio". Even the old golden-age studio films had stock footage in...

The film was completely in-studio. No location work. Despite the fact that it is half exteriors. So as you can imagine, there is more greenscreen than set built for the film.

Ingmar Bergman's stuff always makes for interesting discussion. The french new wave stuff is pretty cool too, anything by Truffault or Goddard. Though anything along the lines of stuff like that is relativly obscure in terms of mainstream taste and availability. Kurosawa and Leone make for excellent...

Heh...a friend of mine hates Rick McCallum for doing that "everything is great, everyone loves George" routine in the Prequel Updates. And since he does that with Insider, I guess he's right, that they are only making it look like a flawless project. I never realized it until he actually ...

Actually Night of the Living Dead explained that the virus came from bacteria from a crashed satellite...or maybe it was an asteroid, i cant remember. But thats how it started. It was ignored for the sequels though because it really wasnt relevant in any way.

actually the manowar anothology wasnt even made by the band, it was put out by a record company without their consent, using a discarded photo from the 1982 photo sessions for Into Glory Ride (which itself may be a contender for "worst album cover").

do the defenders know that a bite causes infection? Because the Romero zombies wouldnt even reach the walls but the remake ones would cause plenty of havoc, even if they would eventually be beaten. But i think in the long run they might win, simply because after they've been vanquished, the plague w...

Love him. Whats not to like? Even with his good-boy image he still had plenty of personal demons to wrestle with, and in today's trendy anti-hero comic book image, the no-frills goodguy superhero is refreshing. But fuck all that, the image of superman is so iconic you'd have to be crazy not to just ...

gotta say... I saw the original DOTD and the new DOTD and the new one kicks the zombie poo out of the old one. the old one is too slow for today and while it may have been great back in the 70's the remake is just what is needs to be for todays zombie thriller fans. go see it. no fucking way. saw this last night. My feelings: Its good--not great. But at least its good. The original is still about a million times better, but then thats to be expected i guess. However, i really liked the ending to this one. the escape-from-the-mall sequence was astounding, very 28 Days Later-ish, which i g...

And Rye, i think your suggestions are too metal for the more "classic rock" style the original poster was suggesting.

Personally i cant stand those types of bands, both their utterly terrible music and ridiculously lame lyrics (and not the good lame like Manowar). The most extreme things you'll ever see in s...
