Re: RIP Jeff Conaway
The OP doesn't say it (unless I missed it) but in the link it mentions that he died from complications from pneumonia. Yahoo news say that: He was taken to the hospital unconscious on May 11 and placed in a medically induced coma while being treated for pneumonia and sepsis, which is blood poisonin...

Re: Mega City One vs the Draka
The Draka at this point control all of Africa and Eurasia, have orbital battle stations, a space fleet, and colonies on Mars. Only members of the most recent generations are genetically augmented, they're on the cusp of making man portable beam weapons, and their computers suck. The Judges win, wit...

Re: Doctor Who "The Next Doctor" [spoilers]
I quite enjoyed that. My only complaint was that I thought that Jackson should have saved his son not the Doctor.

Re: 40K 1st/2nd edition misc analysis thread
I thought the old description of a Needler was essentially that the laser made a hole in armour for the poisoned needles to get through. Not that a laser propelled the needles themselves.

Re: Brand quits, Ross suspended over 'prank'
The whole situation is retarded. Both Ross & Brand appologised straight away. The Daily Mail & Sky News have blown this way out of proportion. Plus Gordon 'I've got nothing better to do' Brown should fuck right off & perhaps attempt to run a convincing government.

One of the things that makes TOS still interesting to watch is how you can see where they were still literally making the show up as they were going along, doing things very much on the fly. Yeah one of the more awesome things I like about the first season of TOS is that for the first 15 or so epis...

Hmm, haven't read it yet, but can see the problem you have. I've no issue with 'untold tales of the heresy - as long as they don't degenerate into fanwank' - but considering this series is supposed to be only 12 novels I would have thought they'd put alot more effort into quality control, and only c...

To be honest I found Sins to be a poor remake of Ascendancy. Fancy graphics don't hide the fact that the game mechanics are nearly identical. Except it's actually WORSE because Ascendency had more interesting technologies, better ship designs, and effective defences. :) Fire Fly, Hotfoot is right. ...

Do they still grow the gene seed in the vat grown servitors if a chapter in question gets decimated? Yes. The space wolves have been reduced to a single company (the other 11 being annihilated to the man all in one battle) at least three times in their history and the surviving company restored the...

I actually like Rose, she's been the best of the companions by a hell of a long way for me, better than Martha and miles better than Donna. The fact that Rose was there was the least of the episode's problems for me; hell, the 'bad wolf' moment from last week gave me shivers. I can't see any resolu...

I was bored, my 15 year old sister, who has never seen Davros before apart from in Genesis of the Daleks, was bored, and we both independently agreed it was all a bit shit. Nothing actually happened, we got a whole episode of filler with the only moments of any worth involving Donna's grandfather a...

And why wasn't Tosh and Owen bigging it up in Torchwood? Especially when they were doing the technobabble? Killed offscreen by Daleks? (or did they die in Torchwood's finale? I never saw it.) Yeah, Tosh got shot and no one noticed in time to save her, while Owen got vapourised by the Magical Radiat...
