Re: 2016 US ELECTION: Official Results Thread
Guess I was right about the knock-on effects of pissing off and humiliating Sanders voters.
I'm genuinely shocked my own Michigan swung for Trump. He was smart, courting factory workers and auto workers. It seems to have made a difference.

Re: The 2016 US Election (Part III)
The Russian bogeyman is a laughable play that shows just how old and out of touch Clinton's advisors must be. Americans aren't interested in or scared of Russia in the way they used to be, and not a few are confused why we're bankrolling non-contributing NATO members for a third world war that is ne...

Re: Uk Referendum on The EU Announced for 23rd June.
One week ago, a pro-EU, pro-refugee British MP was viciously murdered by a pro-Brexit Neo-Nazi terrorist. And tonight, it appears, the British electorate has chosen to side with the Nazi. Yes, I know not all Brexit voters are fascists. But that juxtaposition is, to me, rather striking. Idiotic Godw...

I must be living in a different world than you, since in my supposed Christian terrorist run America, gays have the right to marry, despite religious admonitions that they all be killed. Multiple sources now are reporting that he did indeed call 911 to pledge allegiance to ISIS, and I've also heard reports that he was under investigation circa 2013 for being a potential Islamist radical.

The Onion's gag headline -"This will be the end of Trump's campaign," says increasing nervous man for tenth time this year - comes to mind. Unless polls actually start moving against him, don't count your chickens before they've hatched.

I'm sorry, but do you have an argument that doesn't rely on magical psychic powers to know what someone else is thinking better than them? The Romulan Republic wrote: But I think you are projecting your own (detestable) wishful thinking here somewhat.

Sorry to burn your strawman, but i'm not emotionally invested in this election. What I'm doing is pointing out that the Clinton campaign has done nothing but shit on Sanders backers and use dogwhistles to accuse them of sexism. This is going to stop being funny for anyone but Trumpets when the gener...

So no one has threatened violence and the tea party isn't involved. Why not change title to 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles promise dance competition over preservation of Native American site.' ?

Re: How could Muslim and Non-Muslim relationship be improved?
IMO there is no real difference in the dogma between Christians (of all stripes and bends) and Muslims. Given the opportunity they will both go to the extreme to kill someone who thinks differently. However, the difference is that the Western world has become fat and lazy and quit giving a shit onc...

This is a /pol/ thing and has nothing to do with Clinton. It's a new permutation on a very old prank, the 'growing crystals' one, which was more of a /b/ favorite, as well as advising people to mix bleach and ammonia for various reasons. Such deleterious shoulda-known-better pranks are part and parc...

Trump is also a political island with no one to further his vile ideas. Clinton, on the other hand, has a long record of making this and other countries worse, and is connected to pretty much every meaningful political establishment in the country.

Presumably the U.S. government will exercise some diplomatic muscle to get her out, since publicly burning your intelligence assets tends to be a poor way to keep them in the long run.

Re: Israel named by U.N. as the top human rights violator.
The point people are making, I think, vis. Saudi Arabia condemning anyone ever on human rights has to do with the fact that many view UN resolutions as nothing more than tools of realpolitik or exercise of international vendettas using holier-than-thou pronouncements. "You too" is not, in ...

Persons upthread have already elaborated why the events aren't exactly comparable, and of course 'but Timmy did it first' isn't exactly something that magically absolves you of responsibility.

Congress has already blocked that proposal because it's unconstitutional. This is just the executive trying to look productive. This is all hypocritical of course. But what if it's not so much suspicion as knowledge that you've not acted upon. Like say for example you know someone is in a terror gro...

A lot of states exclude criminals or their families from filing civil charges in the case of home invasions no matter what is done or happens to them. Don't know of South Carolina is one of them.
