Re: Thoughts?

During the battle of Endor http://www.skayhan.net/Torp.htm Does SWICS2 shed any light on these? It might be interesting to compare the speed of these to the Slave I missile.... What I'd like to see, is an estimate of the X-wing's lasers (which caused a much bigger explosion -- and damaged the hull)...

I haven't bothered to remember the specifics, since I don't do vs. The shield rating isn't an impact threshold, it's a disspation rate. I think I'll leave it to HDS to explain this one. Cya.. No need, I've already seen the theory. I don't know how much it's developed since I've seen it, but it seem...

The "problem" can be summed up with two words: wrong units. The ICS-2 shielding is rated in watts. That means that it can withstand 143 TT per second . However, turbolasers impact in less than 1 second, so a 200 GT turbolaser bolt has a wattage that will translate into something significan...

Ok how about this, Is can you name if Allance was given even EU status? I really shouldn't have to be the one to pull out evidence, but this is just too easy not to: From: http://www.starwars.com/community/askjc/steve/askjc20010817.html The particular attributes of individual media also come into p...

*shrug* Your numbers were only about double of what I got, and with a disparity as big as this one, it doesn't matter. (On first read, before I posted, I mistakenly thought you attributed 50GT/sec per cannon, which was a good bit too high.) Besides, I hadn't posted my numbers on this particular boar...

A Harbinger bomb from FS1 does 3200 damage and is rated at 5000MT. Now, I know that the anti-fighter missiles have ratings as well but the Harbinger will give the absolute highest figure. Now, using the 5000MT/3200HP figure, we get 1HP = 1.6MT. The Sathanas has 4 BFReds on the front which do 2100 d...

A full Sathanas broadside is about 100 gigatons spread out over 7 seconds--not enough to get through the shields of the Eclipse. The Eclipse superlaser is much more powerful.

Re: 80 Sathanases vs. the UFP

Has anyone tried deriving FS speeds from the cutscenes? I haven't, but I do know that the cutscene speeds show better acceleration and speeds than the less reliable gameplay. I just don't have any numbers to say how much better, so I can't say much more than that. Perhaps someone more qualified tha...

In regards to the gameplay vs whatever of games: I don't accept the gameplay as the ultimate canon of a game for various reasons. The main reason is for the simplified physics code and bugs contained in a game. In FreeSpace, even though the Lucifer is shielded, attacks against it still produce gouts...

Too much goes on, they'd have to be going faster than a humming bird beats it's wings to fit everything they did into so little time. WTF? How can you dismiss that as "that happens". It's impossible in our universe! What happens on Namek alone takes too long. Doesn't matter if it's imposs...

Cutting down the incoming visible light intensity by a maximum factor of 50%? You'd need more than that, wouldn't you? Is 50% the max for transparisteel? I haven't seen a reference mentioning the maximum amount. If that's the maximum, and there's an instance where 50% isn't enough but the job was s...

Oh, anyone else notice the little plug for WBs other DC show? They were talking to Dinah about her abilities and how they manifest. Huntress goes something along the lines of, "Yeah, we hear meteor showers are popular." They also had a reference to this not being the Twilight Zone (UPN's ...

Well, in Trek, when the Enterprise got really close to a star using its metaphasic shielding, I don't recall people in Ten Forward going "Ahhh my eyes!" from the light, or the bridge brightening up at all from the light that should have gotten through the windows at the top. So the light t...

The problem is that we never hear of the events in the games in the books. DE got more credibility in my eyes because it is in the books. The fourth mission of X-Wing was referenced in Rogue Squadron. (The mission where the player has to protect the medical frigate and the corvette Korlev against t...
