Re: Police shoot black man after responding to his Life Aler
WHITE PLAINS — The family of Kenneth Chamberlain Sr. said it would ask for a federal criminal investigation in the wake of a Westchester County grand jury’s decision not to indict White Plains police officers in Chamberlain’s shooting death. You can see part of the video on the actual news site.Eulogy wrote:Yet another damn good reason why police should be filmed. She should put that video on Youtube (if it isn't already), and do everything she can to make sure the Bogey Police's PR guy can't spin this as anything but the travesty it is.

Bogota Officer May Be Fired For Stopping Beatdown
Time for a heartwarming story of a Police Officer doing the right thing. By KIRSTIN COLE pix11.com | @colekirstin 9:14 p.m. EDT, April 16, 2012 Plenty of cop "beat downs" can be found online, but how often does the officer who stops others from handing out the beating get fired for it? Tha...

Re: Rape victims say military labels them 'crazy'
Nope, civilian oversight committee won't do it - look at the rate of rape in the civilian world, it's not that far away from the military problem. You think so? I disagree. If someone in my company (a large, semi-evil corporation) were raped by another employee, reported it, and was fired because o...

Re: Rape victims say military labels them 'crazy'
Rape is already illegal, so making it more illegal is not the issue. It's the chain of command that doesn't give a shit that's the problem. We'd need a separate oversight department to deal with it. It should also be civilian to completely insulated from the chain of command.

Witnesses to Afghan massacre say Robert Bales was not alone
Here are two versions of what happened the night of March 11, when 17 Afghan villagers were shot to death. First, the Army version: Staff Sgt. Robert Bales, troubled by marriage woes, drunkenly left Camp Belambai, 12 miles from Kandahar, with a pistol and an automatic rifle and killed six people as...

Personally, what killed it for me was the way NPCs were handled. In 3.5e, if you encountered a group of Orcs, you encountered a group of people like you. The have stats, alignments, equipment, skills, and possibly class levels, just like you. They can be befriended, slaughtered, negotiated with, con...

He's actually not going to veto it. Washington (CNN) -- The White House lifted a veto threat against a giant $662 billion defense authorization bill on Wednesday after legislators made changes in language involving detainees. In particular, the legislators added language to make clear that nothing i...

My opposition to you is founded on your apparent belief that the rule of law can and should be suspended or set aside if the moment is dire enough. If you do not actually believe this, then you should avoid making arguments around "well it just isn't bad enough YET" and implying that assa...

No, you were comparing the US to Israel in the point I was responding to, saying that terrorism was something much harder to reduce than. Re: Obama authorizes killing of cleric
Wait, wait, wait, wait. Your solution to the problem of car accidents is to ensure people have less experience driving? While 24% of all accidents occur with the under-25 group, is that because young adults are inherently horrible drivers (and they don't have any respect for their elders either), o...

Re: Obama authorizes killing of cleric
Because you're making a false equation. The two are causes of death, but one is much easier to reduce than the other. Significantly reducing people dying in automobile accidents would probably require a major restructuring of the country's infrastructure to reduce the amount of people driving, requ...

Re: Obama authorizes killing of cleric
Car crashes are, by their nature, accidents. While shit like 9/11 constitute a hostile act by outside parties with malicious intent. Those outside parties can, and do, do more hostile acts and they can act more hostile - which is why stopping them is necessary. And how can you stop them? Simple, by...

So car crashes... therefore no deadly terrorist attacks? What?. FYI, just in case you didn't know, the idea of a Deadly Terrorist Threat is a crock of shit. So we won't use nukes against countries with no nukes, and this is supposed to hurt our deterrence? That means that there exists a country, that does not have nuclear weapons, but that we couldn't bomb back into the stone age with conventional weapons? What is this country?

I'm pretty sure that no matter HOW much they posture, the fact that one old white rich guy can kill unemployment for the nation...and a good chunk of the nation is currently collecting, many of them Republican...is AWFUL PR, again, both for the Senate and the Republican Party.
