Re: Anton Yelchin killed in car accident
Apparently his vehicle, a 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee, was part of a recent recall. There was a problem with the shifter not providing enough feedback for people, causing people to think they had the car in park only to realise it was instead in neutral. Re: Umptety shooting in usa. Orlando case
Was the shooter a homophobe? ATM it's too soon to say why he picked that target- or whether it being a gay club was incidental. Apparently the shooter's father released a statement saying that religion had nothing to do with this attack, and that the shooter was angry because he saw two men kissing...

God, you people make me so glad I'm from Manitoba. First, something to note that almost all kinds of insurance in Manitoba is through a non-profit Crown Corporation called Manitoba Public Insurance. All auto insurance is through them. They also handle driver licensing, so I never have to bother with...

I just started to watch this myself. Only on episode 3. Really getting into it. Reserving judgement on his guild until I'm done watching and have done a bit more research. In the interest of fairness though, I thought I should post an article that lists all the information that the film-makers suppo...

Re: FAA unveils mandatory registration program for drones
I can understand people getting bitchy at mandatory registration, but it's honestly a good idea at this point. For one reason, just type "forest fire" "helicopter" and "drone" into google. What pops up is article after article of fire fighting aircraft being grounded fo...

Re: "Affluenza" defendant Ethan Couch violates probation, flees
I never really understood using affluenza as a defence in court. So, a person has been brought up in a world where his actions don't have any serious consequences. Therefore, that person must... continue not face any serious consequences for his actions. He must instead be given a lighter sentence, ...

Oh, I'm not saying we shouldn't do the job as well as possible. Just that given a choice between leaving them where they are a little longer to have everything right when they get here, and bringing them here now and sorting out some of the problems once they're here, I lean toward the latter. Thou...

In Battletech tanks are....nerfed. Let me be blunt they are NERFED with the Nerf bat. The same Fusion engine your Warhammer enjoys needs to have 50% more mass added to be put in a tank. That is complete and utter BULLSHIT. Double strength heat sinks don't work in vehicles because of reasons...unles...

Re: Canada Election 2015
Thinking about it, I'm a little bit bittersweet about the Trudeau's victory. While I'm happy the Liberals won, I'm not that big a fan of political dynasties. It's not much of one yet, but I hope it's not the beginning of a larger one.

Re: Canada Election 2015
You know, every time I hear the Conservatives try to blame part of their loss on the collapse of the NDP, I hear an admission of how they were relying on the split vote between the NDP and the Liberals to win. It's also an admission that they know full well that the current election system really fa...

Re: Canada Election 2015
Until recently, I fully expected Stephen Harper to get another term. With only one right wing party and two left leaning parties (to varying degrees), the PC's just have to much of an advantage in the current Canadian election system. Though recently, the NDP have been taking a dive in the polls, so...

Re: World of Warships
So, apparently the supertesters have been begging for the higher tiers Russian destroyers to be nerfed to something reasonable before they're released. They have excellent range on their guns and good damage, and are excellent at setting ships on fire while the opposing ships can't even see them. Re...

How the mighty have fallen.
I remember when AVG was considered one of the best pieces of anti-virus software out there, beating many subscription based ones.
Now it's a joke.

Re: Doctor Who S09E1 - The Magician's Apprentice (spoilers)
Saw the episode yesterday with some friends. All of us were really of the opinion that we can't really tell if that was a good episode or now until we see part 2. It really felt like just half an episode. I wonder if the better suggestion would have been to stick both parts together and do it as a T...

Re: World of Warships
My hatred of low tier destroyers continues. First battle in the Hosho and I'm playing on Big Race. Most of my team is dead, and I'm being fired on by several ships, but I'm heading into the south west of the map where I'm going to be at least a little bit covered by the islands there. I even managed...

Re: World of Warships
I do no understand it. The Yubari is a terrible ship. Terrible. It's fast and it has good AA, but it's undergunned and it's torps have such a narrow firing ark. But I keep on having amazing games in it. It makes no sense. Also, I'm instituting a new rule for myself. Stay the fuck away from low tier ...

Re: World of Warships
A note to destroyer drivers: At the beginning of the match, press the "P" button on your keyboard. That turns off your secondaries and your AA. In a destroyer, you don't really have secondaries, and your AA will get you killed far more often than it helps you. Last night I was in a match i...

Re: World of Warships
It's funny. Up until a couple of weeks ago, I just didn't find battleships to be that fun. The low traverse rate of their turrets, the high reload time of their guns, and their terrible accuracy just wasn't fun for me. I'd fire at a cruiser, have almost all my shots miss, and then have to wait anoth...

Ok, WG really needs to bring spotting XP to WoWS. First match in the Isokaze, and I get the Ocean map. I'm not a big fan of this map on general principle, but in a destroyer, it's horrible. I know I'm going to have a crappy game, but I realize I can at least help my team by getting spots on the enem...

Re: World of Warships
Dive bombing remains completely useless on the lower tiers, and from what I see being talked about its just always amazingly bad. Really nice eye candy to what other people be surrounded by splashes and barely damaged by it though. I would argue that dive bombers are not completely useless, just mo...

Re: World of Warships
For those that have not figured it out, the game has a heavy element of rock-paper-scissors to it: Battleships kick the shit out of cruisers, but can't hit destroyers due to their long reload times and relatively few guns; Cruisers can't pen battleships (but can do at least some HE damage to them),...
