I was in a car accident that put the front end of my car through a brick wall and the first thought that came to mind as I was headed for the wall (knowing I couldn't stop) was "Shit I'm going to be late to my dad's", instead of a ''Omg, I am going to be packed in here like a sardine".

I use mom, only mother when i'm upset at her.
And it's almost always Daddy, or Dad, i've NEVER refered to him as ''father'', unless i'm talking to someone else about him of course.
