The count's up to 15 now. So glad these men are finally going to be able to go home.

Also, I've lost pretty much all faith in the property management corporation doing anything in any reasonable amount of time (my bathroom window still hasn't been fixed).

Re: SSID suggestions

Not an option because of the time of day. And I may have been a little loud last night (albeit not as loud as they are now). If it were am hour and a half later, then I wouldn't have a problem forcing them to turn down the music, but since it's only 8:40, I have basically no legs to stand on.

SSID suggestions

So my neighbours are (once again) being asinine. To get my message across, I'm going to change the SSID for my wifi. Which of the above messages do you recommend?

Also, changes or totally different messages are welcome.

Re: New The Old Republic trailer

The Old Republic trailer: Hope I am not Malak . So no none of the characters are related directly to Kotor. This trailer appears to be set prior to all the others based upon the injures of Malgus. As to the female jedi looking like Bastilla, you can blame Bioware for their inability to create chara...

New The Old Republic trailer

A new trailer for The Old Republic was unveiled today at E3 (I don't have a link if you haven't seen it yet though) and I just want a yea or nay on a few things. Am I correct in assuming that I saw the following characters: Bastila Shan, Darth Malak, and Revan? And if so, am I also correct in assumi...

I already have 6GB of ram. The problem lies with the fact that the drive is SATA1 instead of SATA2, but I'm not ready to out right replace it as there's still life left in it.

Re: Where can I get an SSD hybrid kit?

The problem is that the conventional drive is slowing down my load times (by 1.5x-2x). By making it a hybrid with a kit, I basically solve that problem (or at least greatly reduce it's effects). Also, I'm not sure you understand the purpose of hybrid drives. The purpose of the SSD is basically to se...

Re: Where can I get an SSD hybrid kit?

My installed steam games measure over 100GB 128GB. Right now, 128GB SSDs aren't affordable for me, but a 32 GB drive in a hybrid kit comes in just under the line, and gives me options down the road.

Where can I get an SSD hybrid kit?

I want to speed up some load times for my games, but unfortunately, a pure SSD solution isn't very practical for me due to the poor $/GB of larger drives (I need at least a 128GB if I were to go pure SSD). One option is the new Seagate 500GB HDD with 4GB SSD, and can be had for $130 at TigerDirect ,...

Re: 5.1 home cinema systems

And that's the point. This quick test allows you to root out the shitty systems. It's not to differentiate between 2 good systems. 2 good systems will be differentiated on features and price, not typically sound.

Trouble printing to a shared printer

So I recently purchased a new printer that I've connected to my secondary machine to keep it out of the way. The problem is, I've been trying to do test prints from my primary machine (which can see the printer), and nothing is happening. Documents aren't even making it into the queue. I've done tes...

Re: 5.1 home cinema systems

In addition to Mike's post, always try to listen to the system (especially el cheapo HTiaB systems) before purchasing. Crank it until you just start to hear distortion. If this isn't at least a decent amount louder than what you'll listen to it at, then pass on by. I've passed on more than one syste...

Too many to list really. These are the highlights:
  • Mass Effect (before I go out and by ME2)
  • Crysis (on sale on Steam)
  • FarCry 2 (again, on sale on Steam)
  • Fallout 3 (I'm only a few hours in)

Re: To buy, or not to buy: Nexus One

I don't need GPS (have a stand alone device), and don't need MP3 ability, although it's hard to get a smart phone without them. Both android and iPhone do that anyway, so it's a bit of a moot point. I do need a camera that offers at least 3Mp resolution, and is higher quality than what's on my phone...

Re: To buy, or not to buy: Nexus One

I can't really say I'm happy with my current phone anymore. I managed to crack the front LCD early on, and they wouldn't fix it under warranty (despite the fact that was caused by a manufacturing defect, IMO). I can access websites, but it's slow (2G at best) and painful on the small screen, and wit...

To buy, or not to buy: Nexus One

It's time for me to get a new phone. When I got my current cell phone, I didn't need, nor wanted a smart phone. Now, it's still not so much a need, but definitely is a want. My preferences are for either an iPhone or Android phone, with a Palm Pre Plus in a near third. Also, getting a subsidized pho...

Re: Leaving a recently signed term contract job?

So a few questions: Am I walking into an ethical trap by going into an interview for another company a week after signing a 6 month contract? No. The company can let you go before the 6 months at its own discretion, correct? No, they can only fire me with cause. Also, I don't think there's a clawba...

Leaving a recently signed term contract job?

As anyone who has read my vents over the past few weeks know, I was in danger of not being hired on permanent, or at least receiving a term extension at my current place of employment. During that time of uncertainty, I was applying to jobs just in case. I have since received my term extension (and ...

Re: More Cake is Coming (Portal 2)

I'm really hoping Ep. 3 will be released with (or at least at the same time as) Portal 2. The ending of Ep. 2 (won't spoil it here for anyone who hasn't played it) definiately implied that Gordon could be weilding the portal gun in Ep. 3.
