Jutland 90th Anniversery

I'm surprised nobody here mentioned this, but Wednesday was the 90th anniversery of the Battle of Jutland, the only full-scale clash between the Royal Navy and the High Seas Fleet during the Great War.

Any thoughts on this?

I'm really excited about this. There really haven't been any 3D steel-era wargames since Fighting Steel seven years ago, and the pedigree is impeccable. I do wish it would cover Jutland or any of the dreadnaught-era battles, but take what you can get, I guess. With luck we'll either see a sequel or ...

How do I win the big battle to defeat the Fiver army? I ran straight through the level from the ASVS to the SB side killing everything in sight and it still won't end. Am I missing something?

Somebody needs to use the template to make a World War I Gundam series.

Because that would be all sorts of awesome.

I'll always fondly remember the old Maxis manuals. Simcity 2000 had one of the greatest appendixes I've seen.

Origin games are also good for free supplemental stuff, and the Crimson Skies manual had plenty of entertaining ads.

I think multiplayer is still a long ways off, and anyway the Vega Strike engine is ill-suited in its prsent code state - I remember playing early builds of the mod where you waited ten seconds everytime you did anything because of the "dynamic universe". I can't imagine how much worse it w...

Yeah, I played around with it for a while. Pretty nifty with the Capture the Lith mod, but when you've got all that action onscreen it's difficult to control anything even at the lower unit caps. I'm probably going to try Starshatter or something.

I understand that the budget of that movie was only $17million ( Which is pretty small for a sci-fi movie. If I'm wrong let me know). The budget was something like $20 million ... and they went ten million overbudget. They also made it in Luxembourg where there's no tax on theatrical productions, a...

Re: Why did Hawaii attack gay marriage?

When I started looking into this, I never would have expected Hawaii to be a state to have a state constitutional amendment against same-sex marriage. But in 1998 they did. The text of the Hawaii marriage amendment reads: The Legislature shall have the power to reserve marriage to opposite-sex coup...

Doubt it - reviews place it rather firmly in the pro-Bush camp (rather ironic, all things considered).

Apparently Bottoms also played Bush in a Crocodile Hunter movie. Seems that'll be the defining role of his career.

DC 9/11: Time of Crisis

Has anyone seen this movie? As I understand, it's a TV movie released last year about George W. Bush and September 11th. However, the thing that caught my eye was that it stars Timothy Bottoms in the title roll, reprising his role from "That's My Bush". Guess someone was impressed by his p...

Wargame Troglodyte Needs Help

So the last computer wargame proper I actually bought was Sid Meier's Gettysburg back in 1998, and since then I've watched what appears to me to be a staggering array of titles shuffle across the pages of PC Gamer and Computer Games magazine. In that time, I've grown increasingly weary of the mainst...
