Re: NFL 2011
I would describe our loss as "Kubiakesque". I doubt Johnson will be back that quickly. Our guys who had similar injuries are taking longer than two weeks to heal.... You may be right. I'm only repeating what I hear on the radio where they've been saying that he'd probably be back in about ...
Re: NFL 2011
I don't think there's much utility in trying to grab another receiver unless we're going to trade away, say, Jacoby Jones to get them. Particularly with Andre coming back next week or the week after.
Probably.

Re: NFL 2011
I heard your team just traded for Derrick Mason from the Jets. Yeah, I heard that on the radio this morning. Jacoby Jones hasn't been particularly reliable as a fill in for Andre. Kevin Walter and our tight ends have been the better option. But we still need someone to fill in in the meantime. Not ...
Re: NFL 2011
According to the injury report he has a bruised thigh, so, he made it through that fairly well.
Re: NFL 2011
Yeah... my optimism is fading. And I don't think we're all that deep on defense.
I'm really sad to hear Mario is out for the season; he's my favorite player on the team.

Re: NFL 2011
Mario is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle... James Casey is out with a pectoral injury... Andre is still out with his hamstring and probably won't be back until next week at the earliest... Schaub has a sore throwing shoulder and is day-to-day... :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :bangh...

I'm about to log off and I won't have a chance to check back in the morning. No biggie, it was just a spur of the moment idea.

We're not championship caliber quite yet, but we're playoff contenders. That's the difference compared to last time.

A pointy one.
Re: NFL 2011
I'm actually really hoping that they sit Andre this week to be safe (even if he can technically play) so that his leg has enough time to heal since it's the Raiders. (And assuming that it's not genuinely serious. Andre's a good guy from what I can tell even if he weren't on the Texans) But then we c...

Two of those were from Super Mario, too.
I had a blast at the game and my voice shows it.

Re: Article on Homosexuality
That's largely a value judgment. It used to be considered a mental illness in the early US psychologists' manuals. Today it isn't. Some people think psychologists' opinions carry very great weight - YMMV. That's what I mean, though. There was something that convinced them to remove it from DSM IV: ...

Re: What are you reading right now?
The Dynamics of Fluidized Particles Frankly, some of the math in it is over my head (having never studied quite that level; tensor calculus if I'm not mistaken) but it's giving me insight. I started reading it for work because I have an interest, professionally, in solid particle erosion. And since...

Article on Homosexuality
Can someone provide a link to an article on homosexuality? Specifically what I'm looking for is one that supports the fact that it's not a pathology(?). Is that the right word? Basically something that backs up why it's not listed as a mental disease.
Re: NFL 2011
Yeah going to games is a lot of fun. I over do it and crack my voice almost every game. Against almost any other team our 33 points would have been enough, but Brees has the Comeback Gene. Like I said, though, this coming week will be a test on whether our defense is (almost) ready for the big time ...
Re: NFL 2011
Okay... I'm a little concerned, though not panicking yet. I'm a little worried that Brees exposed the cracks in our defense, particularly our still-not-quite-there secondary. On the other hand, we were playing against Drew Brees and the Saints. We didn't pass, but we didn't outright fail either give...
Re: NFL 2011
I had the same problem in one of my leagues. Ended up with Nick Folk of the Jets in week 2.
Re: NFL 2011
This Sunday is going to be a test. We've got a couple of Louisiana natives and LSU grads, but most of us (LSU grads included) are going to be cheering the Texans; so it's going to be a fun Sunday afternoon. Our group aside, getting a win this weekend would be huge. Two things: our defense has to per...

I'm using those terms rather loosely and informally, so, I don't have a number for you.
Best I can say is that it's a large enough number that I'm not surprised when I come across it again.

If he's for real, one wonders why he hasn't been arrested for hate speech. Does the FBI not watch YouTube? It's America. He can say damn near anything he wants as long as he doesn't actively incite violence or threaten someone the Secret Service protects. If this guy isn't taking the piss, then he'...
