Re: A question for Magic: The Gathering Online players

Event tickets are just game money (1 dollar one ticket). The only thing WOTC will do to take cards for you is if you want to transfer an entire set into paper from online. You can sell them to other people and use the event tickets to cash out via selling the tickets by Ebay or the like.

Re: A question for Magic: The Gathering Online players

http://www.mtgotraders.com/buylist/ This is a collection buyer it has all the things to sell the collection. I wouldn't be expecting more than about 100 bucks unless he has something insane in the collection. You can not sell anything back to WOTC so thats complete bullshit. There are other sites t...

Re: my first earthquake

That's because we are professionals. :D 5.6 is decent. It's a foot massage for us, but decent. The midwest quakes are felt normally about 4 times the distance away from the epicenter then Cal quakes and you guys have bedrock to build on. We got prime liquefaction areas that entire cities are built ...

Re: Want a job interview, Anglicize your name

We were close friends with an Armenian family in central California. When they came to the US during the Armenian genocide (a lot of Armenians came to central CA) they changed their name from Aslanian to Lyons so that not only would they not be Armenian, they'd be FRENCH (and therefore super-classy...

St Louisian here (Actually went through the Terminal and Security areas pictured at the beginning of the month on my way to Peru). Lambert can probably take the hits better then almost any other airport I can think of. Most of the non boarding areas and the Terminals don't have very large windows at...

Re: The Applicability of "Depthscrapers"

That's interesting stuff and somewhat counterintuitive to me. Solid rock is excellent at transmitting vibrations; the closer you get to a dense, crystal system, the easier it is to transmit energy through the system without the vibration being damped by lattice irregularites and gaps. This is physi...

Re: Kalahari Desert and Seawater Desalination

(Disclaimer: My understanding of geology is limited to what I've picked up from playing Dwarf Fortress.) You could, but if it's below sea level then the water table ought to be close enough to the surface that it's equally or more economical to sink wells. That actually won't help at all. Water Tab...

Re: Britain to students: fuck you!

In the US, we're paying in some cases, 17,000 for an in state school. I'm not going to be weeping too hard for people paying 14,200. That's rather crass of you. If they are doubling their tuition rates, it fucks them over, plain and simple. They pay twice as much for gasoline, so don't complain abo...

The New Madrid is the second most active zone in the US, and as Skimmer said it has in recent memory gone off with a high enough power to move the Mississippi.

could they tap the USGS and use seismograph data (I know there has to be a buttload of those all over the place out there) to pinpoint more accurately the area of the crash? EDIT____________ (I'm looking at you, Chewie) I don't think we have too many seismographs close enough to that area, (...

I can live with those.
I can't, I've lived on a Marine base as a kid, the local schools were horrible but the on base school was quite good. I couldn't see it happening anytime.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. (AP) — A federal judge has issued a nationwide injunction stopping enforcement of the "don't ask, don't tell" policy, ending the military's 17-year-old ban on openly gay troops. U.S. District Judge Virginia Phillips' landmark ruling Tuesday was widely cheered by gay righ...

Re: U.S. apologizes to Guatemalans for secret STD experiment

A nation, a world superpower, so advanced and powerful, used poor Third Worlders as guinea pigs for medical experiments. Nothing new, anyway - the US is not alien to such experiments, as MKULTRA shows, but it is still a worthy piece of information. Forty similar deliberate-infection studies were co...

Isn't Bobby Jindal a Catholic? I thought that was the wrong kind of Christian for the GOP. I may have an odd experience but in my local area most Catholics are Republicans due to pro life issues. Yes, but how'd you get them down there? :D Aye, that's the issue - you'd be better off moving the gate itself to a facility with better access (preferably a purpose-built one). Just add another warehouse to a large base that has a lot of units and forces going through it. It gives you plenty of rea...
