Re: Matrix 4 confirmed, Keanu Reeves and Carrie Ann Moss returning.

Or that the original trilogy is nothing more than another nested reality used to maximize the biological energies of “malcontents”. Having a confined and controlled space to give a layered illusion of reality for those who reject the higher layers of the matrix. None was real at all. The program is ...

Re: The 2016 US Election (Part IV)

When I was a presiding judge at the precinct for Bill Clintons 2nd term, we put up a velvet rope behind the last person in line when the polls closed. Anyone who came later were informed that the polls had been closed and only those on the other side were still allowed to vote

It has been great to see my son and wife going out hunting together. The closest gym we found was oddly in the middle of the (for real) abandoned mental hospital across the street from us. I thought it was odd to place one in closed off private property. Did not stop us from finding it though.

Re: Mount McKinley restored to native name of Denali

I cannot blame the populous of Ohio for this as most of them probably do not know that McKinley was from Ohio let alone there was a mountain named after him. This is a political "lets git them democrats" play pure and simple. Even in the sticks the constituents think our representatives ha...

It boils down to the fact that as a privileged society, the onus is on all Americans equally from the impoverished single mother in Alabama to the wealthiest white politician to use all available resources to combat the system that has given us all the equal opportunity to torture, kill, and maim ot...

Re: "Seeking the Past" - "Undiscovered Frontier" Season 1

I am very much enjoying this story. I have a question regarding the shields installed on the colonial ships. How were the vipers able to launch through it while it was up? I am under the impression that the fed ships can launch through a shield by matching their fighters shields to the "frequen...

Re: "Anti-Homeless Studs" in a London Doorway

In this case the method is dangerously extreme. I doubt it is 'extreme' so much as 'cheap and quick to install'. Drilling, tapping and screwing or just epoxying those in probably took an hour or so, using minimal tools and materials. Repaving or building any kind of brickwork takes considerably mor...

Re: "Anti-Homeless Studs" in a London Doorway

These spikes have got to be the most dangerous method of keeping a person from holing up in a doorway I have ever seen. I know a number of businesses in the neighborhood I work and socialize in have taken similar if less extreme measures to prevent the same problem. Cement knobs spaced on benches an...

Re: Who is likely to be the Republican candidate in 2016

I can tell you that at least one "purple state" governor has no hope in hell. John Kasich of Ohio will not be electable this year ( if ever). The hilarious thing is he has no chance because he actually did what he said he was going to do. His primary supporters voted him in on a slim margi...

I used to occasionally go to that site to see what the conservative right thought about issues but it as you said it turned into nothing more than a hotbed of bigoted extremism (much like a good part of the Republican party did). I could recommend another site you may enjoy; not quite as extreme and...

I have had a few attempted break-ins and two successful burglaries in my home(s) over the course of my life. The attempted ones were most likely stopped by the fact I had an imposing looking dog who alerted the thieves to her presence. The successful ones were done while I was away at work or on vac...

If in a society where organ donation was mandatory, I would be afraid that perhaps more unscrupulous doctors would let "undesirables" die in order to harvest organs for those deemed worthier or for their own monetary benefit. At that point it would essentially be the word of the physician...

I don't see how it's significantly different from when my dentist told me I wasn't allowed to keep my wisdom teeth. People stop being people when they die, and it's not like it would be depriving anyone of their freedom to decide the really important things, like who gets their money. My dentist le...

I haven't heard that he actually ever entered the house. Just helped one of the victims kick the shit out of the door to open it enough for her to get out. She then had him call the police who actually entered an found the others.

It will be very interesting to hear the tale these women have to tell. Thankfully they lived and seem to be in good health. I agree that hero might be a strong term to use for the neighbor. However I find no problem with it as it can have nothing but a positive effect on the community to have this c...

Interesting crossover and I think it will be fun to see where you take it. Hopefully the Xenomorphs will not become the prime villain. It seems the BSG humans have enough on their plate as it is. Fortunately they also have the ability to nuke it from orbit.

It is the only way to be sure.

I have been told that a bar is the worst place to meet women, and that coffeeshops are better. I have found little difference myself. I have met many wonderful women in coffee shops but I met my wife in a divey bar. Interestingly enough now that I think about it I met her by harassing her I guess. ...
