Re: Starkiller Base vs...4th Empire planetoid!
Didn't 4th Imperium stuff fight at FTL, or am I thinking of something else? Staying mobile should prevent them from being successfully targeted. Not that I can recall; they can use the Enchanach (? I can't remember the spelling) Drive for tactical manoeuvres, but I can't recall any specific example...

I agree it's pretty cool to see what kind of stuff was talked about back then and how the view points might have shifted.Chimaera wrote:I love ancient necro's - they're like little internet time capsules that get dug up. Think how different the board (not to mention the world) was back then ^_^

Re: nBSG meets Honorverse
Well Beowulf were the guys who invented impeller drive, so unless this ship has been underway for a really long time (impeller drive goes back to 1289 IIRC) that should give the colonials at least a working 'sublight' gravity drive, presumably sidewalls, and very likely acelleration compensation, s...

Re: verified—atoms won't move while you watch
Wait, atoms? I though tunneling and the so called Zeno effect was sub atomic particles. And isn't the 'watching' thing a bit overplayed, shouldn't it really be introducing energy into the experiment by way of the laser? Quantum physics makes my head hurt. Tell me about it even after taking my into ...

a construction droid could build all sorts of sweet things.
a something like a modified protocol droid but instead of having an immense language data base it would have a immense tech data base.

light at the end of the tunnel for blind
Well slowly but surely we are getting to the point of fixing blindness. Now all we need are the bionic eyes they have in Shadowrun. A blind woman fitted with a “bionic eye” has spoken of her joy after she was able to tell the time for the first time in more than six years. Rhian Lewis, 49, was given...

So, fuck my Social Security Disability COLA, my mothers Social Security Disability and her Military Retirement Disability COLA, we need to give NASA, currently the biggest joke in manned American space exploration since Sputnik, about what it cost to launch 3-4 Space Shittles (not a typo) give or t...

Re: Congress proposes increased funding for NASA, including money for Europa lander
Well a NASA Chief Scientist was claiming that they would find evidence of life soon. Maybe there's more than to it than there letting on. Humanity is on the verge of discovering alien life, high-ranking NASA scientists say. "I think we're going to have strong indications of life beyond Earth wi...

Hum wonder if there's going to be riot when people overreact to a bump in the road. In what is a perceived legal blow for prosecutors, the jury was hung and the judge declared a mistrial in the trial of Baltimore police Officer William Porter in connection with Freddie Gray's death after he sustaine...

Re: Donald Trump calls for barring all Muslims from entering the US.
Frankly, when I look at attitudes from many Americans towards Muslims these days, I see the potential makings of a genocide in the works. Remember that Hitler did not start with murdering 12 million people. He built up to, with increasingly severe repression. It terrifies me. We have to fight this ...

Re: Doctor Who season 9 E 12 - heaven sent
Also, Doctor Who already did the end of the universe in Utopia, it was cold and dark and a hundred trillion years from now, so I dunno where they're getting this "it's only a few billion years away yet there's still a sun to shine at us dramatically." We saw from "The Sun Makers"...
Evicted
Seriously bullshit. Ok I admit I screwed up but between the death in the family and being on vacation for Thanksgiving I kind of forgot to pay my rent. However instead of informing me they instead left an eviction notice on the door the day after the rent was due despite the fact that in the over 3 ...

What I hate is that I did the do not call registry and they still call. Lucky they only call the home phone so far and anyone that needs me for real calls my cell so I unplug the land line unless I need it.. Granted only going to be a matter of time before I get those on my cell as well.

And the doctors are not hopeful. Got a call at 3 in the morning that they were wheeling my mom, whom is about 2000km away, into emergency surgery. Apparently she had knee surgery 8 days ago and the number one rule for post op care is watch for infection especially since she's diabetic. Guess what sh...

40mm missile fired from grenade launcher
Ok interesting, Raytheon Company successfully fired two Pike 40 mm precision-guided munitions from a standard tube grenade launcher during flight tests at Mile High Resources in Texas. Both rounds landed within the targeted impact area after flying more than 2,300 yards. (2.1 km). Weighing less than...

couple of things the hologram was seriously non interactive compared to the Jor-el in Man of Steel. Hell Siri is more interactive.
Also why are all the aliens that are not kryptonians just as strong when on earth.
Plus I think the government agency needs to teach her how to fight.
