Incidentally, do achievements work now? Last night when I finally got through login I noticed they were broken. Again.

Iorveth's path makes it possible to be more of a traditional goody-two-shoes hero. Roche's path mainly consists of helping assorted shitheads out of necessity. I can't really name a personal favorite, though on Roche's path you do miss one quite interesting nugget of information. Or has someone mana...

Re: Syndicate Demo Gets Things Right

Funny thing is, it seems public groups are less awful on hard. Maybe it's because by the time people dare to try upping the difficulty, they've already figured out at least how breach works. You still see silly stuff, but the ever so lovely "what does IMMUNE mean?" -situation generally doe...

- pick from 4 different characters, but no customization at least in the demo
- shooter, though you get to pick new abilities and whatnot as you gain experience

Software engineer. Also continuing MSc studies on the side. How's the job situation back there? I don't have any statistics on hand, but at least the ministry of labor website lists plenty of openings in the Helsinki area. Less in other cities, though I still managed to get a permanent full-time jo...

Re: Naval surface warship simulators ?

Destroyer Command is the only halfway modern surface ship sim that comes to mind. It might be unplayable though, it was buggy as fuck on release and I'm not sure it was ever properly fixed. There's also the Great Naval Battles series from mid-90s. It was more of a Harpoon-esque fleet combat game, bu...

Re: Witcher 2

The greatest head-scratcher are the mutagens though. There are very few skills that you can apply them to and most of them are rather weak, even the greater ones. What's more puzzling is that you don't find these in boss battles or are simply hard-acquired but are just random monster-drop items tha...

Re: Witcher 2

So, completed the game. I liked the story a lot, even if in some respects it's a little too obviously setting up the third game. The game is a bit on the short side, but the main problem is the gameplay. The combat system could be good but it's crippled by sluggish and imprecise controls. It's not a...

Comrade Karzanovski would say something about the persistent shortage of names, but fortunately his vodka-addled mouth cannot form the sentence.

Such is life in Zenobia.

Re: Let's play: Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space

Comrade Karzanovski would like to notify the hung over and halfway burnt out operations director that his name is in fact Karzanovski, not Karzanovich. Usually this wouldn't be a big deal, but if I'm going to get incinerated for the glory of the Motherland, I'd like a grave with the right name on it...

Re: Let's play: Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space

EDIT: I also find it funny that Zenobians have such high endurance ratings compared to the soft and flaccid Murcan astronauts :D While the capitalist pigdogs were stuffing their faces with McArnold's fast food, the hard men of the Zenobian cosmonaut cadre were skiing to school in a snowstorm. And i...

Re: Let's play: Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space

Comrade Karzanovski has recently learned that he is the second best choice to fly the early capsule missions. This is good. In Zenobia, being second best is actually the best as far as chances of survival go.

Another note: While you're grabbing screenshots for Spring 1959, PeZook, could you show the flashcards for Vostok and Cosmos again? What do you think this is, Murca? Duplicating flashcards is not possible because the committee didn't prepare for such a contingency a capitalistic waste of resources,...

That's the second ivan ivan ivan on the Zenobian roster. Did the central committee underestimate the amount of different baby names needed in some past 5-year plan or something?

Re: Witcher 2

The shield spell was invaluable to me during the prologue, but I did find myself a bit annoyed at being able to parry in one direction. However, as you gain levels you can select the skill to parry from multiple directions. I think in Witcher 1 this was automatic, I can't quite remember. Eitherway,...

Re: Which is your favorite Christoper Nolan Batman movie?

I loved TDK when I first saw it in the theater. Later when I watched it from DVD, just about the only time I wasn't yawning or rolling my eyes was when Joker or Lucius was on screen. I don't think I've ever before or since changed my mind so completely about a movie.

So Batman Begins is my answer.

Re: OMFG THE STATUE OF DAVID HAS A DING DONG?!

Is this news, or is it just another chapter of the book "let's mock Southerners!"? Its another round of lets laugh at the culture-less southerners. That said, I'm not sure statue-porn should be displayed on someone's lawn where a 5 year old can see without a parent's permission. I mean, w...
