Re: Trump Dump: Internal Policy (Thread I)

And in other news, apparently Russia was trying to recruit members of Trump's campaign. The CIA is not sure if they succeeded or not. Link The former CIA director, John Brennan, has said there were enough contacts between members of the Trump campaign and Moscow by last summer to justify further inv...

Re: Trump Dump: Internal Policy (Thread I)

So a republican thug just assaulted a Guardian reporter link.

Weird thing is a Fox news team witnessed the altercation and reported it.

Fox news backing a liberal reporter over a rightwing candidate who donated millions to trump? So much winning.

Re: Roger Ailes is dead

Given the size of the war in question, I'm honestly not sure they compare to Ailes (or, on the political front, Calhoun) for the sheer magnitude of gratuitous destruction of the social fabric of the republic. Well, the war those three started caused over four decades of colonial oppression, plenty ...

Nah, that's Spacebattles. And/or HPCA, from which he actually got banned instead of leaving in a huff. It probably is not something they want to enforce, they just want to have something that can easily justify any prosecution. These laws are not meant to be enforceable, they are meant to be tools of oppression they can wield against whoever they want to silence.

Re: Trump Dump: Internal Policy (Thread I)

The most important thing is that we have someone who's trusted not to be a partisan operative, I think. Mueller, as someone who served under both Bush Jr. and Obama, seems like he might be a good choice in that respect, though I admit I'm not familiar enough with his history to say for certain. The...

I wish I could share the confidence over Mueller's appointment, but his handling of the Deflategate issue makes me feel nauseous.
