Re: [TV Series] Ahsoka Discussion Thread [Unmarked Spoilers!]

Here's a thought I had from watching the latest episode of Ahsoka. Thrawn's stranded in another Galaxy with no apparent way home and no knowledge of when home for a decade. He has (at least) the Chimera and her crew but no support structure. He might be able to build one, but to do so he'd need peop...

(Galthirith, Late Winter 43 IA) Galthirith was a land of serious winters; ocean currents spared the northernmost Drow State the extreme temperature drops of the Coldlands, but they were long and dark and wet. The end of winter involved cold rains, mounds of slush and rivers flooding. Most of the po...

Re: The "Philosophy" of "Technological Determinism"

The thing about Greed is that there is a practical point of human satiation. Imagine if you lived in a house that's a cubic kilometre with 250 storeys and millions of rooms with a workforce of spiders keeping it in operation all by your own. Forget making the bed, you could sleep every night in a ne...

Re: Avatar: Way Of Water *spoilers*

So, this is something I just realized. So the brain backup tech is available, and is cheap enough to be used on expendable grunts (the fire team with Quarritch got backed up as well).... ...So....why wouldn't RDA back up Jake Sully before they put him into a freezer for the trip to Pandora? The tec...

Re: Avatar: Way Of Water *spoilers*

I rather liked this film. Pandora is beautiful as ever and the Underwater environments are beautiful. The Humans returning is glorious in it's horror (having ISVs fly down, burning out the surrounding enviroment with it's anti-matter drives to winch down skyscraper sized landing things full of soldi...

Re: We need to talk about Andor

The whole prison arc is seriously excellent storytelling that stands out. This is not to denigrate anything else in Andor, the heist arc, the ISB arc, Mon's arc, Starsgaard's arc and the riot on Ferrix are all great in their way.

Go see Turning Red

The Teaser Trailer, best no spoiler introduction to this movie

It's a Pixar movie about a Chinese-Canadian girl living in Toronto in 2002 who, when she gets worked up turns into a giant Red Panda*. It's really good. You should go see it.

*Incidentally one the best animals on earth.

I really don't like the new aesthetic. I really do. I've seen the first few episodes and to be honest it's really freaking good. This is really just a get out of disease or horrible free card with massive personality shift. If I could regenerate to being 20 or 30 this would be good, but as it stands this is really limiting.
