Kate Mulgrew narrates new film promoting geocentrism!
From the original article : A new documentary film, narrated by a former Star Trek actress, promotes the long-ago disproven idea that the sun revolves around the Earth. “Everything we think we know about our universe is wrong,” says actress Kate Mulgrew as she narrates the trailer for “The Principle...

Re: Fatwa: Muslims can't be part of one-way trip to Mars
By the way, Norway were under the rule of foreign nations(First Denmark, the Sweeden), for almost four hundred years, and when it gained it's independence in 1905, it was one of the poorest and least developed countries in Europe. Similar to several of the islamic countries previously under colonial...

Re: Fatwa: Muslims can't be part of one-way trip to Mars
Most of what is now Saudi Arabia was pretty undeveloped during the colonial period compared to other parts of the Islamic world, wasn't it? And they’re wealthy now mainly because massive amounts of oil was found there after World War II? So I’m skeptical of the argument that their particular lack o...

Re: Fatwa: Muslims can't be part of one-way trip to Mars
But hey, Islam accounts for 1/5 of world population........ namely nations which got screwed over during the colonial period and denied education by their ruling European elites, unlike the wealthy Jewish disporara....... Looking at the science productivity and research budgets of various countries...

Re: Fatwa: Muslims can't be part of one-way trip to Mars
Regarding the history on islam, modernity and science and where things "went wrong", it's ofcourse easy to put the blame on colonial European powers, as this would imply that it isn't islamic culture per se that is responsible for the decline in scientific orientation over the last hundred...

Re: False history in martial arts
Back when I was fooling around with karate (only got up to a green belt in IKCA, this was late 90s ish), some people were fairly critical of TKD as being largely a for-show martial art where big air was more important than actually hitting people in a realistic fashion. As with all arts, this depen...

Re: False history in martial arts
That wouldn't surprise me, but keep in mind that the Eastern martial arts have been around for a long time. The history is rather murky, though it is generally accepted that martial arts originated in India and China and spread from there . Actually, it's not. I am aware of the myth of Bodhidharma,...

Re: Do you drink tea?
In the evenings, I drink mostly earl grey with milk and one sugar cube in it. My girlfriend jokingly refers to this as my "cozy-tea", as I usually drink it when curled up in the sofa with a book. Herself, on the other hand, buys and drinks a lot of different teas all the time, and this is ...

False history in martial arts
Several martial arts I know of presents their history in, what seems like, a deliberately false way. Why is this, do you think? Did the founders and inheritors of these systems believe that they couldn't stand on their own as combat arts in their own right? Or did they in fact believe the easily fal...

Hello, people! Really happy to have been approved registration here, despite the lockdown. Have lurked for a while, but decided it was time to dive in. Unfortunately, I don´t have an interesting story about my username, as it is simply my surename, but at least it´s quite rare, so there. My first na...
