Re: Let Us Discuss Bungie's Destiny
SO ANYWAY BACK TO DESTINY. Pre-ordered it for $5 today, got a sweet poster. Looks interesting enough, and I'm excited to see a cross platform FPS MMO with some really interesting character customization options. I enjoyed the scope, scale, and art direction of the Halo games. Gameplay comes and goes...

Re: Fired Cop On a Murderous Rampage in SoCal
So, the officers statement is brought into doubt because he thought Dorner was wearing a tie. Okay. Seems kind of strange that we should throw out a testimony over a mistake regarding clothing but accept the testimony from someone who wasn't getting high marks from his training officer. I call that...

Re: Fired Cop On a Murderous Rampage in SoCal
Whatever interaction with the patrol officer witness you are speaking about isn't in the source I quoted. Could you cite it? Sure, from the Dorner manifesto: He also stated that he assisted in cuffing the suspect and that’s old the BOR he told me to fix my tie. A link (earlier in the thread I think...

Re: Fired Cop On a Murderous Rampage in SoCal
I didn't realize that Dorner's manifesto was considered truth. That might be true that two of the board members were friends of the accused and if so certainly does cast doubt on their decisions, however, according to one of the earlier articles Dorner's claim and that of the victim were found to b...

Re: Fired Cop On a Murderous Rampage in SoCal
Dorner had numerous problems at the police academy and as a probation officer before his accusation and subsquent firing. Can you provide information regarding what these issues were? He brought them up himself in his manifesto, along with his side of the story. Because the LAPD has a nice history ...

Re: Fired Cop On a Murderous Rampage in SoCal
I was really hoping he'd end up turning himself in at an FBI office, and riding the media coverage into a shit-show for the LAPD. I read the manifesto, and while I agree that he has a couple bolts loose, he doesn't seem "crazy" in the usual sense of the word. I can't condone the killings i...

Re: Is the Rise of China beneficial to US Interests?
Technology advances are going to obsolete a lot of our notions of warfare over the next decade or so. We have flying robot death drones already. Military spending is going to be far more about intelligence than force projection. I don't know how much of a lead the US has in that theater, but I'd wag...

Commodities of course, but not as many finished products. They can produce those domestically. Luxury goods and such will continue to pour in, but I imagine we'll see a shrink there as home brands start to swing more weight.

Re: Is the Rise of China beneficial to US Interests?
The more participation China has in the world economy, the more they will push for economic stability. Same with India. We (the US) want these huge population centers to have a vested interest in keeping the peace world wide (better for trade), so we can back off as the sole world police.
