Re: Grenfell Tower Block Fire in London

The tower's acquired its own conspiracy theory as well, claiming that everyone in the building died and the government's trying to hush it up. Maybe that's the real reason for the delayed Queens speech and DUP deal!!! In all seriousness though this is the government that can't get a deal done withi...

Re: Van Hits Mosque Crowd In London

Last I heard, the Mayor of London referred to it as such. No idea what the British government is calling it. But yeah, this is terrorism, obviously. As mentioned in the third paragraph of the OP article quote the UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd has said it was a terrorist act. It's also littered throu...

Pro-tip: Shutting down your engines doesn't reset the staging. Been messing around with planes and an early successful design had 4 engines mounted on pylons under the wings. So the Prince and Princess of Isulae Draconis are heading to the fight practice I attend this Saturday. On the one hand I have not gone for a while and really want to get fighting again. On the other I am pretty confident Yannick and the people he is bringing are going to humble me. Not that I was a...

Re: Second Scottish Independence Referendum Is Go

It's not a given that it will happen. Just that Sturgeon is going to ask the Scottish parliament. While it might get through there Westminster will still have the final say and I can already see it being shouted down as "you want another vote so you can get the result you want." or moved t...

Whelp, I'm getting better. Only got the knee once this last practice. Better than the 4-5 I usually do... Even so I'm getting the feel for it and I'm starting to work my attacks into routines rather than just swing and hope. (I believe the lead guy told me my swing was really powerful and it's a sha...

Target archery was, though expensive, good for me. It's a sport that keeps me fitter than sitting on my backside all day and meeting new people. When I get on the shooting line there isn't anything else in the world but me and my 1,2,3 and the nice feeling when getting golds makes me want to do it m...

Re: General SCA Thread

So in the third week of practice I am feeling more comfortable in the armour, I hate the helmet, I am becoming more aggressive and I need to be careful with my efforts to get under the shield. Getting very close to, and occasionally hitting the knee. I imagine that my claims it was a valid tactic at...

Even though its 20 or so years ago I remember "going under" when I was having a minor operation. I was about 5-6 when I went for, what I was told, an hernia operation. I later learned that it was actually to lower and untwist a testicle but I guess its easier to tell a kid its an hernia op...

I was wondering though, once you pick a persona do you stay in that persona at any SCA gathering?

Maybe not chancellor as Gove has never struck me as a "money man" but deputy party leader for sure.

If they are confident in his economy handling skills it will be a relationship like Cameron and Osborne. If not then Like Cameron and Clegg, but without the seemingly abusive relationship.

Re: Uk Referendum on The EU Announced for 23rd June.

So if I understand the way uk referendums work, the house of lords could stop this because it's counts as an act of Parliament, right? The most the Lords can do is delay and act not kill it outright. There is a piece of legislation that allows the Commons to force through an act that was used durin...
