Re: Senate's gone, how about... a Star Chamber?

Jesus Rob, I don't generally have an issue with you, your one of two mods I feel will give my PM's a fair shake but I think you might just have sent the opposite message that you intended. If I was a new member I'd probably make a mental note not to approach you, going "OK says he's approachabl...

Yeah, even just a sticky thread would serve the purpose.

Re: Senate's gone, how about... a Star Chamber?

^--This. The Senate also enabled a discussion of the board, it's culture and it's rules without AR2 hanging over the heads of the participants. I'd like to see something that enabled that to return. Not the Senate as it was, merely a way to openly discuss policy without the instant AR2 shut down.

Re: Is this guy a terrorist? SEIU bigwig Steve Lerner

I've never really understood this Golden Mean and this seems a decent opportunity to ask (we all know that Count Chocula isn't coming back); I understand that a Golden Mean fallacy is stating that the middle ground between two issues is correct because it's the middle . So by my understanding what B...

Re: Arpaio brings tank to cockfight.

The last one actually looks like an M109 or similar vehicle. Not a tank but rather a Self Propelled Gun. Which is even more questionable; a tank is fairly unnecessary as it is, but why the hell would Arpaio need to shell positions from kilometers away? He doesn't. And I seriously doubt he has any a...

Re: Gaddafi orders crackdown, leaves many dead

I seem to recall the US begging, nagging and bullying NATO and others into Afghanistan and Iraq because they wanted help. Well, you can take one for the team now. And what did you honestly expect to happen? Hold on Aaron, let's be honest here: Forgetting for the moment that all of NATO agreed that ...

Re: Senate's gone, how about... a Star Chamber?

Make the mod forum publicly view-able, there's your star chamber. It'll also go a long way towards improving the perception of transparency and mod accountability.

IIRC the idea has been floated before, sometime during the Senate debacle.

Re: Gaddafi orders crackdown, leaves many dead

Well as we've committed the majority of our ground forces to Afghanistan, the only guys I expect see in country are the JTF (who if they aren't in already are most certainly on standby) and maybe CSOR if they need heavy backup. And that's just fine with me. As for comparisons with Iraq, well the 200...

Re: Gaddafi orders crackdown, leaves many dead

I'm glad we are flying over Libya now. This is the kind of foreign action the Canadian public can easily support, especially since it furthers our heritage as peace keepers and peace makers with the UN. I wonder if Harper will use this as a justification for the F-35 purchase? Probably. It also giv...

I'm not really seeing anything in that wiki entry that points to any terrible shit. In fact it says right in it that the Grand Senussi opposed fanaticism. Is there any other evidence that Libya might be swapping bad for bad?

Re: Gaddafi orders crackdown, leaves many dead

Heard on the radio just now that the Canadian government is expected to announce 6 CF-18's to be deployed for the no-fly zone. On top of HMCS Charlottetown already on station with the Yanks.

Re: what are the most powerful moments in video games?

Really? I found MGS4 to be a total snooze fest with no emotional attachment to anyone or anything in the game save my XM25, nothing made the slightest bit of sense and the final battle with Liquid had me laughing my ass off at the absurdity. Maybe I would feel different had I played the other games ...

Good news?

Ontario is apparently still committed to adding new reactor units and upgrading our current ones. The government has also been fairly clear that what happened to Japan can't happen here (fucking duh).

Didn't the Rebels ask for our help though? Sarevok was totally correct earlier in the thread when Sanchez and I argued that the Libyans needed to do this on their own, we should have intervened as soon as possible. And now Qaddafi is getting away with murder. So I suppose in a few months will be bac...
