Re: Eternal Question: Befriending vs Therapy no Jutsu
Would you by any chance care to expand? What do all these words you're using mean? Is this a magical power thing, or just people being persuasive? What are their methods? Is there any reason to believe they'd work if not for plot powers? Describe your question, it's meaningless at the moment. He's ...

SAMAS you don't need my permission to add content, your contributions are always welcome. On vacation at the moment with limited time to post. My rough plan is to finish Lemurian, do Orbit, then South America (so... many... factions). The policy of Carella and Siembienda has been fairly consistent t...

Not entirely fair. They dominated the Ancient World so hard that fighting anyone was just unfair. Then they graduated straight to modern warfare after a few generations of isolation. It makes sense that there'd be an adjustment period. http://terralthra.net/sdnet/rifts/R_Udragturt.png Sea Turtle Dra...

I am aware that there's a hero association that ranks people by powers, and that Saitama is unfulfilled because he casually stomps anyone he wants. And something about bizarre obsessed aliens? First I've heard of Genos.

Did anyone ever come up with a credible explanation for what the blue speaker-arms in the interrogations were?
I'm assuming the idea here is that Dr. Vahlen was mind-controlled and is being held.

Re: How would you restart Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
I'd go full reboot, but I also didn't really watch the show. The episode or two I caught didn't particularly seem like products of the time, but if I were redoing it I wouldn't want a one:one repeat of the same episodes with a little updating.

I believe the writer holds the prize and not the production.
Not knowing the play, I can't say how justified the comparison to porn is, then again, I've seen theater with male nudity and with comically oversized phalli, so maybe I'm a little desensitized, but what;s the big deal?

Re: Superhero Manga: One Punch and My Hero Academia
Not much of a manga/anime guy. I have heard of One Punch Man, mostly through memes. Saitama punching out Superman, Saitama explaining for the thousandth time the source of his strength to a highly skeptical audience. That sort of thing.
My Hero Academia sounds interesting.

Alright, so there are two other magic systems on Scadriel, Feruchemy and Hemalurgy, both are also deeply tied to the allomantic metals. Allomancy is Preservation's magic system, Hemalurgy is Ruin's and Feruchemy the art of balance. Among the thieving crew turned rebels is a quiet and efficient serva...

Bit of Analysis: the Cosmere
Back at it. This time to talk about the Cosmere. This thread may be a little different, I intend to explain the various worlds of the Cosmere, but won't always or often have quotes at hand. I won't be doing plot outside some broad outlining, but expect much in the way of spoilers. That out of the wa...

As far as I know, these are two separate incidents along the route. Nobody at the party made trouble, they just got the kids inside. Later, some teens or possibly adults pitched rocks at the trucks.

Re: Ga. Confederate flag supporters face terrorism charges
I recall hearing of this in the news when it happened. The article at the time mentioned both that rocks were thrown, and that the RoF group brandished weapons while shouting threats and slurs at a six-year-old's birthday party. One of the trucks being "swarmed" I didn't hear of. That they...

Re: Does having immoral thoughts make someone immoral?
This entire concept is invalidated by the fact that free will is an illusion, our unconscious thought has already chosen our course and the conscious brain is left to justify our actions. We're no more free to choose our actions than a computer is, the only difference is that we're programmed by ev...

Good gravy how many books does Rifts have now??? And is the power creep still there? 2 main books, the new one supplanting the original, plus 16 sourcebooks (3 more in the works) 4 oddballs (GM guide, Adventure Guide, Indexes, and Book of Magic) 33 world books, 14 dimension books, 3 adventure books...

Re: Imperium Invades RIFTS Earth
Well, Gods in the Palladium Megaversal System are neither omnipotent nor invulnerable. But they tend to be superhuman on a level 40K sees most often in Daemons and Primarchs, can tank nukes and tend to be very learned and powerful casters, besides their divine powers. I feel like the gods would be a...

Regardless of size, all Moai can sense supernatural evil at a range of a thousand miles, 5,000 if exceptionally powerful and evil, and will emit a loud groaning alarm that can be heard across the island. Re: Imperium Invades RIFTS Earth
Actually, IIRC, in some of the Rifts supplements, are are Orbital battlestations/fleets that have deliberately interdicted Earth. But I doubt they'd stop an Imperium invasion. Yes, Orbit, my next stop after the oceans. In short, there is a counter-orbital debris field, with hundreds of kill-sats an...
