Oh OF COURSE lt. nipples is on her high horse, MAYBE she should have worn a bra before going through the stargate? Those things are like six pounds each! Amusingly she actually is wearing a bra, you can see the straps when she turns her back  I don't care Lt.Nipples is now her official fan nam...

Re: SGU 103, Air Part 3 (Spoilers)
Brings up some questions about the gate network. The Destiny has a single piece, manual-dial-only gate, as does the desert planet they visited. It implies that these must be very old gates, compared to the complicated milky-way gates and the digital Pegasus gates. It's sure handy the Kino control de...

Re: SGU 103, Air Part 3 (Spoilers)
I wouldn't rule out the Destiny itself (or its AI) putting the ship's own welfare (And repair) ahead of the human passengers. If done right, it could lead them along, thinking each step, each repair brings them a little closer to home, when the ship has no intention of altering its mission. I mean i...

Started work on the remote bits. Bashed these together from spare parts, mostly FAZZ and GP01fb as they have plenty of spare pieces. Gives them a nice chunky prototype look. I'm sure if they went into production they'd be all pretty and zeonified. XD http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/4450/zaku36.jp...

little picture update. Thrusters are done. Re: StarGate Universe premiere 2 Oct (spoilers)
I heard 23 weapons, too, but I'm guessing they'll find the nonleathal ancient guns in one of the crates. Can anyone explain to my WHY they couldn't hit the button to close the door with a Kino? Keno. A lot of ancient tech seems to require actual people to touch the controls to make them work. This ...

Shaky-cam gets old quick. Also, are we all clear on Rush = Baltar, and the fat computer nerd is specifically designed to give us all someone to identify with? At least Rush doesn't have rampant obvious narcissism and douchebaggery issues like Baltar, but, yeah. And Eli is so obviously the POV chara...

Had to take a break, get my mind back together and everything. Work started on modifying the beam bazooka. Bits and cables, and it's going to attach to the backpack, I'll wedgy up some sort of polycap attachment for this. http://img10.imageshack.us/img10/4535/zaku32.jpg I still want to add more cabl...

Re: Bad design in Star Wars
BUt is there any canon evidence for such squadrons existing? All we have is one Dreadnought as flagship, accompanied by many ISDs. The best we have is a three Dreadnought squadron (Black Sword), but the only real heavy unit we know of there is the Intimidator, the other are two dreadnoughts of unsp...

That the Mon Cals somehow hid away a huge fleet that could challenge the Empire for years while the Empire occupied their world, and just sat their biding their time instead of using it to support the Alliance, or for that matter do anything? Or that they rapidly rebuilt this massive fleet in a mat...

Well decided to work on the hands a bit. I have all these spare resistors left over from the Vic Viper lighting project, and it turns out the leads from those make great repair parts. Drilled out the hand and super-glued em in. http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/983/zaku28.jpg Some careful bending a...

It's making the parts brittle?? I've seen paint that attacks the plastic such that you can see softening or crazing of the surfaces, but I've never heard of paint making plastic brittle... Is it Tamiya primer you're using, or another primer that's definitely compatible with your Tamiya paint? dupli...

Re: Bad design in Star Wars
If it was impossible to accomplish, then why did General Dodonna proceed with the plan? If it couldn't be done, he should have ordered an evacuation of Yavin Base. But he didn't, and Red Leader's strike came close. What might have happened if those Y-wings had gotten a chance to launch their payloa...

Re: Bad design in Star Wars
It should be noted, this image, apparently a CGI rendering, seems to be from the Behind The Magic CD and does not show exactly what is seen in the movie. The torpedoes seen in the film exhibit more "flaring" and the details of the shaft and surrounding surface are slightly different. The ...

The turn we see the torps made is very wide, there is no way they could maneuver inside the shaft. http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/starwars/images/3/31/Protontorpedo.jpg exhaust port=2 meters apparent radius of torpedo turn by trails=<1.5 meters (conservatively) exactly how tight does the turn ha...

After giving the clear plenty of time to cure, today I went and masked the parts that are getting the camo pattern, and sprayed with model master RLM64 Lt Blue (german aircraft colors just work so well for zeon mobile suits!) did a bit of subtle post-shading on it http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/...

Hey just make the grates out of some random Star Wars super material (or whatever they're made out of in vidjya games oh ho ho) and let the missile get stuck somewhere and burned itself out. Primary painting is done! Got main tone and first pass post-shading.
It's actually darker in person.
Now I need a spare left palm though (G11) from any zakuII or Gouf 2.0 kit. I've got a bit of a problem.

Re: Bad design in Star Wars
It seems like that AG/force field systems are so well-protected that if a ship or other passenger-carrying structure (landing platforms) was damaged enough to actually lose AG or a vital force field, the matter is moot as the very structure of ship itself is catastrophically damaged at that point. ...

The argument that I've heard for mechs is that anti-grav vehicles can't pass through theater shields (we see this in TPM, the B-1s are sent in until the shields are down, THEN the AATs charge forward). The thing I don't understand is: why not just use wheeled vehicles if you need ground contact?( T...

R2's an appliance. Meant to do its job and otherwise not bother people with advanced discussions on philosophy. Why *should* it speak basic? So speaking Basic means filling the air with pointless philosophising? I thought being an appliance it might be handy for R2 and other droids to be able to te...

Re: Bad design in Star Wars
R2 is a maintenance design, he's meant to interact with machines and computers only, how is it stupid to not have him able to talk? He's a freaking screwdriver. No, he's not a goddamn screwdriver, he's a droid - infinitely more complex a piece of machinery. The fact is he has a voder, but it's not ...
