Re: The Board Members You Miss Thread
Yeah that sucks. Sorry you've had a shitty time with it. I was born at a time when Autism/Asperger's was "Male Only". There's still a lot of women my age or younger who have either not been diagnosed, or have been mis-diagnosed. I never once considered the face I was something more than j...

Try being ID'd as Autistic when you're 50 and female. "How did it affect you?" Uh... it made me the bottom of the school totem pole, made me never understand or make easy friends with other girls, made me think all the rules girls had to follow were BS so I was a tomboy? Made me too smart...

Re: The Board Members You Miss Thread
I miss the general activity, but I have to be honest that when we were really active 20 years ago I found the culture very toxic. But I liked to observe, and I didn't like to get involved much through fear of saying the wrong thing. But people were so passionate about things, which as an autistic pe...

The debate thread that lead up Salvation War (and for a time the story itself) will always be one of the high water marks for this board in my mind. A complex and interesting fellow. Rest In Peace. Do you have a link by any chance so I can go back and reminisce? RIP to Stuart and all the best to hi...

That's good news. When I saw he hadn't posted in years I immediately thought the worst (stupid anxiety). Glad he's ok and thankful that he still maintains this website.

Re: So what did I miss in the last JESUS CHRIST SEVEN YEARS
Yeah, for actual discussion as a group, Facebook is a far inferior format, and Tumblr (the only other social media site I use) is even worse (its more for posting images than text, and badly organized at that). There's really no good reason for the death of forums, except that Facebook and Twitter ...

Re: Old TV Show: Babylon 5 Now on Prime
What a show B5 was at the time. It was a big part of my childhood. Sadly the SFX have not stood the test of time, and regretfully the acting and 'feel' of the show have not aged well either. But at the time it was awesome. What a golden age for TV sci-fi the late 90's/early 00's were.

Happy news today that one of the victims of the Russian nerve agent attack has been released from hospital. What a great result for NHS Salisbury, I don't know what the survival chances are for such attacks but it looks like all three victims will end up being discharged. Sadly the fate of the two R...

Re: Star Wars: The Last Jedi release thread (spoilers)
They lost me at the start when the Dreadnought (or other TFO capital ship?) was bombarding the planet with 500lb JDAM's. What happened to multi-GT TL's? Seeing as the explosions rather large from orbit, looked about right for 50km radius fireball. From what I can recall from my single viewing, peop...

The Labour working class vote may hold the key. They have been the worst affected by EU immigration. Let's see how hard Corbyn campaigns to stay in the EU.

Let us know how it works out. I couldn't go back to a smaller phone unless I had no other choice. A bigger screen is just so much more useful for me since I use my phone for everything else BUT phone calls typically. :) Yeah I will make sure to report back buddy. I hope I enjoy it as I have sunk a ...

Re: Apple Iphone 6 and 6+ announced
Outside the US few people have arses large enough to fit an ipad in their pocket, so I think demand will still always exist for smaller phones I have taken on the challenge - I have a plus headset arriving on Friday. Having been very happy with my iPhone 5 for two years I have decided if I don't li...

Re: "Anti-Homeless Studs" in a London Doorway
I'd have no problem with an unknown homeless person sleeping outside of my front door if I was also home, but I would have a problem if there was an unknown homeless person sleeping outside my house with just my girlfriend home. The spikes seem very visually harsh but the reason behind their deploym...
