Re: Homeworld Remakes, It's Actually Happening!!!
It very much won't, if only because if you're doing well you'll have a much, much larger fleet of assault frigates to contend with. That said, it's not terribly hard to bring your own capital battlefleet to bear if you're careful. *sigh* Gearbox had the time and budget to pull in Karan S'jet's orig...

I already threw my money at this on steam. Did anyone else notice that in the multiplayer, you can pit HW1 races against HW2 races?

I don't check this forum very often, but I came back to find this. That really sucks, what an awful set of circumstances - my deepest condolences to you, Tevar.

Re: Generation Y less likely to drive
Must be nice for all you folks who live in a place with decent public transportation. I have to wonder if this article only interviewed people in DC, NYC, or other large cities where public transportation and safe bike routes are everywhere. Now, go ask someone living in the more rural areas, where...

Oh wow, this place has been around 10 years already? I was only 19 when this board came online. While I don't really post much here I'm amazed it's already been so long.
Hell I'm also one of the earliest members, joined a few days after the board came up.

Re: Anti-virus question - is AVG still the best?
I've also seen a lot of issues where when you don't upgrade AVG to the new version, it suddenly start making your system run like absolute shit for some reason. I've switched to Avast. Malwarebytes is good for eliminating problems, but I don't think the free version offers any real-time protection.

Re: Samsung Galaxy S - Skype and firmware
After seeing this thread I decided to get mine updated to 2.3.5, since T-Mobile is going to wait until the 24th century to push the update out, apparently. Tried Kies and had my own issue. Namely, it said "unregistered device" and wouldn't let me even hit the update button. Huh!? Whatever,...

Currently... looking for work as a Network/System Admin/Engineer whathaveyou.
Got laid off from my last job as a field engineer when the company decided to not do billable work anymore and focus on managed services, so my position was cut.

Warning! When you first install it, it will enable nearly any and all add-ons, even ones you know should not be enable anymore. Be sure to check your list of add-ons and re-disable anything that should be disabled. If in doubt, just disable everything that says "...will be enabled after you re...

Re: (Yet another) Firefox update
Yeah, I just updated to 7.0 a couple days ago, after ignoring it for a couple weeks until my addons were updated. Now it's bugging me about updating to 8.0, with some 7-8 updates incompatible with it. Really, with this new release schedule, you'd think addon authors would just make maxversion=10 or...

In that vein, you really should consider some sort of minimal data package with a modern smartphone. Pretty much every application that does something useful expects an Internet connection. Most of them don't use up much traffic (I have a 512mb package and rarely do more then 200mb a month with lig...

Ok, a game in which people build decoy houses made purely out of TNT is awesome in my book :D :D :D : From Minepedia : Decoy TNT House Made by building the frame of a house of any size out of TNT, minus roof, and with a three space wide opening (this is extremely expensive, and you can not make any...

Re: Your best gaming experience (I.E. your favorite game).
My best gaming experience was by far Halo 2 multiplayer, for several reasons: My work schedule was odd, so I basically would stay up late every night, usually playing from 10pm or 11pm to 2am. The thing is, almost all the people I played with, including Laird, got on at those same times - we'd alway...

Re: Your best gaming experience (I.E. your favorite game).
Anyone who wants to 'rekindle a relationship with' a NES is fuvking wierd and should just go get an emulator (and incidentally realize how easy, short and repetitive old games were). QFT. While I had fun with them as a kid, today I find them incredibly limited, and find myself quickly becoming boar...

Re: Christopher Nolan's Inception
As for the end: I'm going to assume Cobb never made it out of the dream. The Spinner doesn't fall over. (after credits signs be dammed) Plus those kids are pretty much exactly as he sees in them in his projections. + we hear that french song in slow-mo (the music that was supposed to wake you up. I...

Re: Christopher Nolan's Inception
Finally got a chance to see it. Loved it. As for the ending... I'm pretty certain that it was, in fact, real. The top never wavered in a dream, ever. Nolan also seemed to make it fairly clear that the totem was an accurate way to determine dream from reality. With how well done the rest of the movie...

What is the deal with the completely unflattering depictions of the women in that last cartoon? I had to look twice to find the arms of the girl on the far right. They don't seem to have chins, and even the teacher looks terrible. Is that just how that artist draws people? The researchers found tha...

Opera does tabs on top too, which is why I refuse to even try it. It's compatibility relatively sucks too. Fuck that shit. I could have sworn it was on the bottom. On the other hand it's less of a nuisance than FF's new design. You can move it. Kinda goes with the whole Opera can do neat things. Yo...

I know. The change from 2.x to 3.0 wasn't quite as significant as this change, though, so I'm not surprised in the least.
It's also only Beta 1.

So I provide test results after you call "bullshit" - so now you declare them "irrelevant" and then jump over to conspiracy theories? They are irrelevant. They don't actually test anything related to real world use nor are they an accurate representation of adherence to web stan...

Acid3 web standards test: IE8: 20/100 FF 3.6: 94/100 Chrome: 100/100 Completely and utterly irrelevant. It focuses on useless shit nobody uses in the real world, and the test itself isn't even standards compliant, pulling things from unfinished drafts! If I were wearing my tinfoil hat, I'd probably...
