Re: NFL 2011
Yeah but a counterargument I have no intention of backing up because I agree with you is the fact that they're simply not playing in the same offensive scheme. Honestly? Given our receivers and TDs (with the exception of Pitta) cannot catch anything thrown their way I very much doubt the Ravens will...
Re: NFL 2011
Looking at the playoff picture, likely matchups are:
Steelers @ Palmer Raiders
Ravens @ Palmer Raiders (Palmer tends to have the Ravens' number and the Ravens are on the west coast)
Steelers @ Tebows
Ravens @ Tebows
Bengals/Jets/Titans @ Texans
Looking good.

Re: NFL 2011
Goddammit. I have to pay attention to football and almost care for another week? Fucking Jerome Simpson and his live action platforming bullshit!! Ravens. Bengals. The Ravens are like the only team the Bengals can play within their division where the fans from the enemy don't buy up tickets in PB st...

Re: Gift Cards. Like 'em or Loathe 'em?
Any particular reason giving actual money feels tacky compared to a gift card? I'm not sure if I can relate to that one. Is it because the gift card shows you know that the person shops at a specific place whereas pure money only shows you weren't sure what to give? It's a social taboo in at least ...

Re: Gift Cards. Like 'em or Loathe 'em?
They can be useful if you have a friend addicted to x and you want to give them money, but don't want them to spend it on their addiction. Or to be a morally upstanding asshole parent who doesn't want your kid to put their Christmas money into video games or whatever else, so you restrict the spendi...

Re: The problem with RPGs
Yeah my post was more in reaction to the typical criticisms of JRPGs by people who don't understand what they're doing and expect all RPGs everywhere to be the same. I actually prefer games with named protaganists that already have a character. To be fair not all JRPG's are the same, they're just a...
Re: NFL 2011
So I guess that's a 1st and 2nd round pick the Raiders are handing out for their would-be legendary season QB. What an unfortunate career for Palmer.
Re: NFL 2011
Haha!! Congrats, Spartan. Looks like a repeat of 2009 for the Bengals, minus the one and done wildcard appearance. Foiled by the Jets again!
Re: NFL 2011
Yeah. You might have a better offense right now, overall, with our QBs hurting, but we've got the superior run game. I haven't actually been watching the reports this week or last, so the Bengals might be missing someone key, but they actually do extremely well against the run. Dunlap is usually se...
Re: NFL 2011
Not looking for pity and I suck a trash talking. Sorry about your QB, and your other QB, and .... damn, but do they ever still have a strong defense.
Re: NFL 2011
Ha, well, the feeling is mutual. If the Bengals don't win, we're looking at the Jets being the favorites to make the 6th seed.
Re: NFL 2011
In case it wasn't obvious that the Bengals are incredibly competent and able to field a winning team, please remember how I complain that Carlos Dunlap has been out of or nearly out of all the major games recently with a hamstring injury. Now watch this . Yes, the Bengals are that awesome, thanks fo...

Re: The problem with RPGs
I'm an outsider who doesn't like the wRPG genre anyway. - Old RPGs are closer to an interactive book, modern books are closer to a movie. For example, you had to read a lot in BG about the worldbuilding. You read masses of text, which on the one hand gave you a wow effect like "wow, the guys ha...
Re: NFL 2011
Yeah, scratch anything I said. I just hope not being able to beat the big kids doesn't affect morale too much.Thanas wrote:Man. The refs are really giving this game to the Steelers. That PI call was completely bogus.
And now the Bungles have decided to just give the game away.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, then. Since I'm lost, never mind. FWIW, I was trying to be helpful, not be an ass.

Re: Zab sketches stuff sometimes
Start very specific and work your way up. If you try to draw the entire human body from the start, you'll probably not pick up the specifics quickly if at all. The eyes are the main focus of characters in general, so you should attempt to learn to draw those well first. From there you could learn fa...
Re: NFL 2011
Goddammit, am I supposed to be overly optimistic or negative? :D Besides, the Ravens are 7-4. They lost to the Bengals in OT. They... they did. Nah, a team that beats strong teams and loses or nearly loses to poor teams is definitely inconsistent. They nearly lost to the Cardinals as well, remember....
Re: NFL 2011
The Ravens are too inconsistent against teams they should beat. If the Ravens lose to the Bengals and 1 game against the Browns, and the Bengals beat the Steelers, the tie breaker will favor the Bengals and should get them first place in the division. Of course I'm Captain Myteamsucks, so I don't th...
Re: NFL 2011
If the Steelers played that way against the Bengals, they would have gotten beat. I do hope they continue to play that way, especially this sunday. Nah, unlikely. It's a divisional game at home. I've said it plenty of times already, but Carlos Dunlap is key here. He's been injured since before the ...
Re: NFL 2011
I'm hearing that Robert Geathers was in there for most of the game, meaning Carlos Dunlap wasn't yet at 100%. They're capable of better pass rushing than that. They typically hold back Dunlap for some strange reason and then he demolishes the opposing offensive line in the 4th quarter with relativel...
Re: NFL 2011
b) Torrey Smith is a legit receiver that made the whole Bengals secondary look porous and Q is a huge man - on Q's TD he angled towards the defensive player to truck him over. Just keep in mind that missing out on Hall means the Bengals' secondary really is kind of porous. If the Bengals' defense i...
Re: NFL 2011
Oh, what? The Bengals are still listed in the playoff picture? Thanks, Tebow! Damn, they very well could make it even if they finish third in the division. Poor Bills. The Ravens game was great. As a fan of the loser, I don't even feel bad after a game like that. But shouldn't the Gresham non-TD hav...
Re: NFL 2011
Yeah but AJ Green and Leon Hall are out, so injuries favor the Ravens.

Re: looking for a net filter
I'm using OpenDNS for now since it's a free option and I can test the waters with it. P2P can be blocked at the user account level in Windows since I can just set those programs to not be allowed. Hopefully changing of IP/dns protocol can also be blocked via user accounts, but I haven't tried it yet...
