That was damn fine, and it even had what I wanted, Battle fisticuffs. And plus, there seems to be a Frontier movie in the works as well. I hope it's a continuation, and not an alternate retelling.

I think that's the actual Macross-class vessel we see in the OP, as opposed to Battle-25. I just took a good look at the broadcast version of Episode 1, and just prior to the OP, it swings past what looks to be a normal New Macross ship attached to the colony ship.

- Maybe cost? Doesn't make sense, since the VF-17 was a spec ops type fighter in 2040 (ie Mac Plus/Mac 7 era) and was expensive enough that they only equipped Diamond Force with the 17s and everybody else had 11s... That was interesting. Homages to the previous shows, plenty of new technology and systems, a tasteful amount of fanservice, and a pretty good cliffhanger. I like the ejection system seen in the VF-25; it's craaaaazy.

Bad Sumeragi, not realizing that Sergei would have become more awesome in the 18 years following the 4th Orbital Conflict. And of course, Sergei now has an unit whose members are all equal or superior to Patrick, the Ace of the AEU.
