Re: Hull 721, plot arc the second
no regrets crazedwraith :) FYI, I've started putting together a 3D model of a star destroyer in Blender...I'll convert to Black Prince after the fact and see if I can't get together a technicolour texture-set for it too. I know there's been a fair bit of description of her over the course of the sto...

Re: Hull 721, plot arc the second
I have to ask, because I've not been able to dig up any pics of em...what exactly is a pulsarwing? Is that a variant on the xg-1 starwing? My mental image of the Black Prince is something resembling a victory class with the side-wings, but substantially larger, with a hugely more prominent armament ...

Re: The Circle Must Be Broken (40k / B5)
heh, actually, now that you mention it (and now I've examined the B5 wiki's entry on the Shadows) I see what you mean, given that they fairly obviously represent the biblical devil :P as in, it is their task and purpose to sow chaos in order to further other civilisations.... while their opposite nu...

Re: The Circle Must Be Broken (40k / B5)
Well, I for one am thoroughly enjoying this, could do with running through a word processor though. I write my own fanfics sometimes, nothing up here, but I find its worthwhile to write it out on a word processor, check it, save it, draft it, etc. then copypasta it into the forum. You might also wan...

Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Eighty One Up
I honestly didn't expect to spark off so much conversation
It almost seems a shame to me that I'm not in a good position to -make- the game...
too many demands on my time, and I'm strictly a programmer, not a modeller or animator.
I might play with it anyway though

Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Eighty One Up
I'd been vaguely thinking that the CoD series has a history of having around half the player characters die. usually spectacularly. the first Modern Warfare had one of its characters die painfully in the aftermath of a nuclear blast, the opening sequence was a first person perspective of a character...

Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Eighty One Up
So, in universe, when will Activision be releasing Call of Duty 6; The Curbstomb War? :) while I have an unbelievable amount of problems with MW2. I still play it more than about 90% of my games... I'd buy Cod6:TCW in a shot :P I wonder what the mission structure would be like on that... mindyou, I...

It wouldn't surprise me to learn that Stuart actually designed the Baldricks to emulate hyenas sexuality
I mean, we don't really see much of the females of the species...I seem to recall one or two mentions, but nothing about what they looked like

I like "Duckie"
its got a nice slightly condescending air to it, without really being offensive.

Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Seventy Nine Up
I like Gil's idea, the battlefield map of hell...
just throwing this idea out, what does a Klein bottle actually look like in 3D?
could be something to incorporate.
Edit: went and looked...nah, scratch that. unless you got really stylised, I doubt it'd be worth incorporating

Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Seventy One Up
oh yah...definately agree. I'd rather an eternity in which there are occasional whippings than one where I have a 16 (or 30) word phrase to chant -over and over again- at least there's some interest in the whippings and an actual life going on between them. to sum, Heaven is hellish, and Hell is mer...

Re: The Salvation War: Pantheocide. Part Seventy Up
Well, there's presumably a mechanism already in place to launch nuclear devices to a location over the blast-plate, would it be so hard to alternate between nukes and shaped explosive charges with large oildrums built into them? blast a spray of oil over the dish? I imagine in space it'd be easier t...

cool, hadn't heard about that metal sphere thing. makes sense though. I'm left wondering about the orion project....how would such a spacecraft stay intact long enough to get anywhere? beyond simple thickness of material, over time presumably the blast-shield will be eroded away. I guess in space th...

yah...you never hear about flying debris from a nuclear blast...I mean, at those ranges in the blast, you get temperatures hot enough to flash-boil lead. that fridge wouldn't have lasted more than half a second. as for riding the blast wave....not a chance, that thing's moving at hundreds of miles a...

I kinda have to agree with you both...Eevin's thought on castes sounds about right, and ignoring some of the story, it would fit my personal view of the whole heaven/hell dynamic. but yah, I also got the impression the changes came after the split...it'd be interesting if we could meet some demons w...

hey Stuart, as a bit of a budding writer myself (for which read, I have a few chapters of a novel sitting on the backburner while I work through university) I have to ask..do you have an coherent image in your mind of what every moment of the story is like? I mean, as you say, Luga is now wearing a ...
