Re: An SDNW Proposal
Unless the rest of the Mod-council speak otherwise I'm just gonna say that Slips are an idea that belong firmly in the spreadsheet battles of SDNW3...in other words the "no more than 25% increase at a time" rule combined with the "mods will smack you down for spending too much GDP&quo...

Re: SDNWorld 3: Time progression acceleration
I'm fine with that, as I said I just want to finish the damn Canal. I mean my big project in Redux was the Mars mission and I just forgot off writing it so I want to get at least ONE mega-project done. Anyway I'm cool with the speed-up.

Re: New XM25 and M240 due to hit war zones soon
the problem is a pistol (9mm, 45 etc) just isn't viable on the modern battlefield as a defensive weapon and the m25 operator won't be able to carry enough ammo to stay combat effective in a sustained engagement. So your choices are pistol (ineffective), PDW (unproven effectiveness and reliability),...

Re: New XM25 and M240 due to hit war zones soon
The 36c is damn short though, and has a real folding stock which certainly reduces the bulk issue but you are right that it certainly exists. Honestly I don't understand why the xm25 needed to be semi auto; making the weapon bolt-action (barret made a prototype of a weapon firin the same round just...

It is still a bit heavy but as a former machine gunner, I don't see how it's too heavy. I agree with Kendall in that it should be the TO&E weapon for that soldier. I think it brings a good capability to a squad so I'm very interested in how it performs. Following up a bit on this you could prob...

Everyone: Siege and I have worked out how to resolve this. There'll be a short period of fighting before saner heads prevail. For more detailed questions, feel free to PM me or Siege. Thanas (and Siege) it can't work that way. The whole point of STGODing is that everyone adds to the story. If this ...

Real quick note, that last bit on my IG post was about taking the two best trained and closest to ready crews and sending them aboard two of my four Majestuoso-class ships that would have finished trials in another 2-3 months IG.

Re: Missouri takes a dump on adult entertainment
I'm just wondering how this will affect the greater Saint Roberts area (also known as the place with all the bars just outside Fort Leonard Wood). When I was re-classing to Heavy Equipment about the only thing you could do was go to one of the two strip clubs in town (there was also one pool hall an...

Small additional note, I included this at the bottom of my build queue as well, I forgot that a few (50) of my ships are now in trials phase instead of build phase so my queue for Q4 1927 has updated slightly.

Re: SDN World 3 Commentary Thread III
Mexico has made her position known. For clarification no mobilization is ongoing with the messages posted but I am running my fleet through a quick fit-out just in case and filling up bunkers either way. The Army still has (this being August) probably 10-15% of its strength on furlough helping with ...

Re: NHL 2009-2010 Season + 2010 Olympic Hockey
Another nailbiter in Montreal as the Habs come from behind to squeak out a 4-3 win to take yet another series to game 7. Could've been over early but the Canadiens caught a few breaks as the Pens hit the posts a few times in the first half of the game. Crazy. Its essentially been the story of the H...

You're an idiot. He obviously meant 'we' as in the US Armed Forces and in the sense that 'we' landed in a predetermined fortified spot and suffered high casualties because of it and that 'we' as in the US Armed Forces can avoid that in the future with this vehicle. You're an even more fucking retar...

Re: Marines Unveil EFV; Gates Takes Aim
A landing was certainly practical in 1991, but that would have required the USN being willing to risk several loaded amphibious ships within range and sight of Styx missiles while in small cleared lanes inside a minefield. Iraqi coastal defense missiles only fired once in the war, but the radars th...

So, when was the last time the Marines actually engaged in their specialized mission of landing on a heavily fortified enemy beach? The examples cited in the article are all from WW2 - and even then the biggest one (Normandy) was conducted by the Army and not the Marines. If you haven't needed a ca...
