Re: Xbox account help
So notorious a problem they tell you how to do it on the first account management screen? Notorious - ill-famed: known widely and usually unfavorably; "a notorious gangster"; "the tenderloin district was notorious for vice"; "the infamous Benedict Arnold"; The removal ...

Re: Xbox account help
Pretty notorious. Yes, it is. If you've never heard of this sort of problem you must have a very limited reference pool. Or you could just remove your credit card, and it'll say 'this will end your service, y/n'. He already tried: So how do I get my card removed from their system? I've already trie...

Re: Xbox account help
XBOX Live subscriptions get auto-renewed and taking your card off their system is notoriously difficult. http://i.imgur.com/m8rw2.png The only surefire way is to bludgeon your way through their telephone customer service until they finally switch it off. In certain regions you get options on the web...

Re: Gaming overload coming in Q4
I need Deus Ex 3 in my veins on day one. Here's hoping Squeenix doesn't feel like charging the Australia tax for the AU steam release like EA/Activision do. I haven't been paying much attention to Deus Ex 3 recently. Please tell me it won't be Steam exclusive. According to the valve site it's a Ste...

Mass Effect 3 I'm obliged to get on day one, but I'll probably be able to hold off on everything else. Arkham City I'll buy, but probably not s...

When you swing the sword at him he auto-blocks it. But anyway, I think future Zeldas could be improved by having fights that are actually challenging, rather than enemies being infinitely respawning (Leave room > Come back) minor nuisances and boss fights being thinly disguised puzzles. Hopefully wi...

Re: Wii successor officially announced, playable at E3
Embedding a screen in the controller was annoying and pointless on the Dreamcast, I expect it to be doubly so on the Wii. It forces you to look away from the screen and refocus just to look at the map/status, trying to use it for control entry forces you to remove your fingers from the main control...

Am I the only person who didn't find the Water Temple frustrating? I thought it was one of the best in the game, especially the misty lake with Shadow Link. There are some people who didn't, but they are a minority. Also, Shadow Link fight was poorly designed IMO. It's not at all clear what you hav...

The story so far. Summary: Has a more traditional gamepad style controller with two analogue sticks, fac...

Robert Clark/Herald Sun: Human rights help terrorists/pedos
ATTORNEY-General Robert Clark's decision to order a parliamentary inquiry into Victoria's Charter of Human Rights is welcomed. Mr Clark is clearly not happy with the impact the charter -- introduced by former Labor attorney-general Rob Hulls in 2008 -- is having on the functioning of the law. The S...

To Stark. I mean, I don't care if anyone uses it, especially since the original guy does not use a computer and hence can't. But Stark sort of challenged me to try and make the program. So I went and did it. About the last post, I was just way too tired to type my own so I just copy-pasted from my ...

Pure sex.
(Or a GLOCK of some sort. 9mm is more practical, but the 10mm AUTO GLOCK 20's are pretty badass).

Re: Is There A Thingy That Can Tell Me How Much Time I...
Someone needs to relearn the concept of time. lol I thought that the xbox, or somewhere on Live kept track of it. I guess not. The only systems I'm aware of that do track it are Steam (don't use competing DD services so they probably do as well) and XFire. Obviously this doesn't help you track your...

Re: Develop your country with a stargate
Umm... the replicators would not have come to the Milky Way/Earth if not for the SGC's involvement with the Asgard, at least not without eating everything between here and Ida. Yes, which is something they would have done soon enough had it not been for SG-1 helping the Asgard. The Asgard may well ...

Re: Gravity gun Vs Portal gun
Of course they can make portal conductors, they have that fucking gel in unfathomable quantities. The issue is that you can only go to surfaces that are such conductors, and there doesn't seem to be many common building materials that are. It's one thing to be able to pull off these insane stunts in...

Re: Gravity gun Vs Portal gun
Since portals apparently require "portal conductors" to work (of which moonrocks are allegedly one of the best), I'm going with gravity gun. In non-testchamber settings, the portal gun is of massively limited utility.

As far as I'm aware, XBL/PSN do not keep track of time spent in game.

Re: Portal 2 now with even more SCIENCE
What are you talking about? 360/PS3 copies had broken street dates in some places (3+ days early), the pirated version went live substantially prior to release, and the game got released on the 19th at midnight even in countries that were supposed to get it later (One of my lecturers got his PS3 co...

After they figure out what it is and make contact with hostile aliens, they will probably bury it.
Then the whole galaxy is overrun with replicators 7 years later.

Re: Portal 2 now with even more SCIENCE
It's a bit hard to be excited about getting the game a bit early when people who bought the Console versions are already playing it because people broke the Street Date for the game and there's no zero day protection. And other people can get them at midnight depending on where they bought them from...

Yeah my new PC has an Nvidia card and the game ran like unplayable ass and was filled with graphical glitches. However I'm not sure who's fault it was. It was nvidia after all who released new drivers that resulted in a 516% (lol!) performance increase, not Bioware who released a patch. The way I h...

I found shit descended into melee in DA:O (I thought the inclusion of friendly fire at every difficulty level except easy, given the combat zones, was ridiculous - I found AoE spells totally useless for that reason and simply unfun to try and use) often enough that I didn't really notice much diffe...

Good. I can't think of anything more tedious than constantly stuffing around with my companion's clothes. That they decide what to wear makes sense. Besides, you still customize belt/amulet/rings and weapon. I can think of many, many things more tedious than that. Shuffling around companion clothes...

Re: Portal 2 now with even more SCIENCE
Source gets a big overhaul with every major Valve game that comes out. There is nearly nothing that hasn't been rewritten since Source came out with HL2. Portal 2 is another upgrade over the last major iteration with Episode 2.
