Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam

Thinking about the music, there is something to be said about the raw tension when you're holding down a base in rush and you hear Fortunate Son gaining volume in the background.

"FUCKING TANK!"

Re: World of Tanks Beta

Probably already been asked but what kind of rig would I require to try this out? Sounds pretty awesome.

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam

I agree. I love the concept of battleground Europe (100% mmfps sim) and would love to play it, however I don't have enough time nor the rig to try it out.

Only thing console has going for it is ease to find and play a game in 15 minutes total.

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam

Nope, it's akin to 1943. Only multi.

I just threw a grenade that skipped off a hill and directly into a Huey's side door, killing 3 bad guys. Even got a 6am "ohhhhhhh" from a squaddie. Fun times!

Re: Conversations from the gaming frontlines.

Had a good one on my brief foray into the hell that was BLOPS. Angry 12 year old vs mom. Round starts; Billy "Anybody got a mic?" Me "Sigh, I do" Billy "Let's go kill these n******" Random "kid, shut the fuck up, don't start" Billy "fuck you man, I'm gang...

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam

Had same issue, had to go back to xbox startup menu and poof they were there. I suggest you hit Harvest Day right off, fantastic open field tank combat right off the rip. Nothing like hiding behind cover and looking over to see 3 heavy tanks coming up the road. Oh and found a great way to dispense t...

Re: Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam

Agreed, and in addition vanilla BC2 map pack 7 was released free of charge a short while ago with 3 new maps 2 of which are armor intensive.

So if you haven't played this in a while, now's a good time to get back inro it.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 Vietnam

Just downloaded this today. It sports a hefty price tag at 1200 MSP's and requires the BC2 game to play. In addition it it roughly 1.7 gigs for those of you still sporting the smaller hard drives. Okay necessary info aside I have to say this may be the best team based FPS to hit the XBOX in a long t...

I'll settle for a good port on XBL. A little x-wing slaughter before work is good for the imperial morale, in my opinion.

Hmmmm, I'm going to go with my Lincoln Navigator. Didn't really need it, but black on black had me at first glance. At least I do use it to cart my guys around at work. Now for craziness, my fiance easily has $5,000 worth of shoes that completely fill one of our walk in closets and a 1/4 of the othe...

Re: what would you have done if you saw this in a subway?

No doubt I would have said something to the female and her associate smacking the shit out of a child in public. Now I don't utilize violence in raising my kid, but I'm not opposed to a little sugar smack if they are openly devient or defiant. While it's not my way, I can say nobody can quantify the ...

We've been known to fire up the old nintendo 64 for some serious Goldeneye tourneys. Game still holds up well after all these years.

Re: A Comparison of Qin era soldiers with other ancient armies

Also, tactics on the battlefield favor the Romans as well. Where as rome had developed clear strategies to employ calvary and archers. The Qin tended to fight head on and save their bolt weapons for their early calvary. Source for this claim? This book is a good source on how China refined it's tac...

Battlefield 1943 360/PS3

Yes, I know it's a heavily gimped version of the PC's games. Yes, I know they simplified the game by adding permanent HQ's and taking out two classes, in addition to regenerating health! However, this game is a blast for 15 dollars, and I'm glad it's raising awareness on a great series. So, wonderin...

Re: A Comparison of Qin era soldiers with other ancient armies

I'm sorry, were logistics asked to be figured into this matter? As I said, there is no doubt the Romans were better equipped and better trained. And i have no doubts that any reasonible conflict would end poorly for the Qin. However, the Qin DID raise and UTILIZE an army that was rumored to have bee...

Re: A Comparison of Qin era soldiers with other ancient armies

Well China did invent the crossbow some 1000 years before their European counterparts... I think this would be a numbers game, as it is perceived that the Qin raised the largest standing armies in the ancient world, numbering between 250,000-1,000,000 heads for the final invasion to unify the countr...

Well, our core is 10 gig with virtual farms etc. However that spoke still uses an archaic network that's 10/100 and the emphasis is on the 10. Infrastructure improvements aren't extended to non-performing spokes :)

Thanks for the answers guys. If you were working in a field, let's say you were a civil engineer. Re: PowerPoint in the US military

PowerPoint can fuck itself sideways for a number of reasons. 1) It's a bandwidth hog, and when you have 50 branch managers preparing month end PP presentations and trying to all shove them through a cat5E local network within 3 hours of each other on the first business day of the next month...hilari...

Great thread guys, just great! My question is on dating and marriage. I guess I simply have a few Q's for the enlightened. 1) How controlled was dating?
