Re: So, I started playing EVE Online

Races don't really matter all that much, no. The only way in which they matter is in what you want your character to look like. Sure, you start off in the race's starting corp and in their space, and with some basic race skills. However, if you spend enough time in the game you will eventually train...

Re: So, I started playing EVE Online

Just a suggestion, since it sounds like you're following an industry path for now. If you're going to do mining, you might consider putting some of those minerals to use to make things. Or, better, you might consider running missions for the purpose of gathering salvage and making rigs. One of my fr...

Re: So, I started playing EVE Online

That's a fair point, but what I was originally thinking was that he should try to get at least a few of the various cruiser Vs. They're the key to the T2 cruisers, which are the most flown ship in the game.

Re: So, I started playing EVE Online

I've been in and out of EVE since 2009. I'll definitely say that it's probably the best game (for what it is) out there: sandbox, big world, players-make-the-content type game. Lots of good advice in this thread on getting started. Join a bigger corp that welcomes new members. EVE-U is a good one. R...

Re: Things to do in Houston?

I'm game! I live in Round Rock these days and I'm almost always up for doing something. The next couple of weeks I'm going to be engaged in a vacation adventure with a very close friend of mine, but following weekends I should be available to do things. We have enough Texans on this board that we co...

Re: Things to do in Houston?

Hey Zod! I don't know much in Houston that would be free and Must See. Houston isn't exactly a sight seeing paradise. However, there are a few neat things that I would suggest you check out that aren't really all that expensive. Battleship Texas - WWI & WWII vintage battleship moored at San Jaci...

Treason then. Ok, so I have a few concepts I'd like to throw out there for anyone who thinks that playing the dirty game RE: treason is a good idea. 1) If you think that the well is poisoned after the Republicans sabotaged the legislative process and shut down the government, just wait and see what ...

I work for a web hosting company. Our development department comes out with new code or new software that works half the time or is released unready and gets iron'd out later. This sort of stuff is normal. Cry me a fucking river.

Re: Stark Trek Into Darkness *SPOILERS*

To make a point, I've worked in a chain of command before, even if it's not a military one. All that Admiral Marcus would have to do to deal with any ships still docked at home would be to say, "Stay docked," and then nothing else. No need to say that he's doing anything and no need to men...

Re: Wendy Davis running for governor of Texas

Part of the problem though is that political participation in Texas is fairly poor. Statistics show that you'll regularly see the Voting Age Populace turning out only in the 30-40% range. This is an unfortunate part of the political culture here that stretches back a really all of the way to the sta...

Re: Gas Attack in Syria

I'm beginning to think that this, for Russia and the US, is a little more than just about Syria. Sure, war between the powers is not worth the use of gas weapons in Syria. But Russian under Putin has been beating a drum for the last decade that says that the world is not a unipolar world anymore. It...

Re: How do they get personal information (scam related)?

To my understanding, there are companies out there whose sole purpose is to gather information on consumers and report it. Credit reporting agencies and what not. And since car buying typically involves looking up your credit report (which is basically tracking everything you've ever bought, rented,...

Lots of Drama in Texas Tonight (SB5)

Ok, so I only just learned of this tonight, but apparently, there was a whole lot of drama over a bill being debated in the Texas Senate tonight. Bill was called SB5, and was controversial for good reason. See article below: Texas Lawmaker Braving Backbreaking Filibuster to Stop Abortion Bill The on...

This isn't borne out by direct evidence on screen, but suppose this. What if the major Federation Member worlds had a ship yard of some sort. Given the vast distances between star systems, I can imagine that ship yards in a particular system would be disproportionately manned by a the native species...

Nearly 50% of the country didn't vote for Obama, so I'm not sure that's an entirely fair argument on its own. What you really should be saying is that Maduro lacks the mandate that Chavez had.
