Re: WoW: Warlords of Draenor
Open-World PvP is not a thing in Guild Wars 2. The downleveling on maps happens so that you can run around every part of the world without instantly killing everything. You DO however have server-vs-server PvP-maps with capturable objectives. You always get leveled UP there, to the maximum level. It...

Nice to see that at least someone had an exit strategy.
And that teleport could have easily rescued Bozzok as well, all it'd have required is for Grubwiggler to touch him. Nice to see that he didn't.

Show me one conservative who does not have faulty memory? Nostalgia is pretty much a requirement for conservatives after all, and that is pretty much based off faulty memory. The Duchess of Zeon wrote:What, none of the old 1990s "Hitlery"? I thought these people were conservatives.

Re: How(or why) does Legolas ignore gravity?
This is just an example of the subtle magic in Tolkiens work. Elves are just so good at not disturbing what they walk upon that they don't sink into the snow either. And it's not even necessarily an universal elven property, it might just be something Legolas has a lot of training in. The same appli...

That doesn't just apply to the USA by the way. Bavaria is a pretty conservative state. So much that it is practically a one-party system on state-level elections with the only real question being "do we get enough for an absolute (66+%) majority or will it just be a normal majority (50+%)"...

Oh yeah, that McDonalds case being used as an example of needed TORT Reform and other such nonsense pisses me off. Wasn't the coffee like 200 degrees F? It was hot enough to cause third-degree burns. 190°F (88°C), but details. Which is NOT a "open and obvious danger". You don't see the te...

Re: Flying aircraft carriers
Well the SHIELD Insight Helicarriers were pretty much aerial destroyers. Their main value was in their gun platforms, the planes were just there for support. The first generation of Helicarriers wasn't made to fight in conventional wars either, they were a operation base for a secret organization. S...

Re: The Hobbit - Battle of the Five Armies (Spoliers)
Essentially the rings worked by putting part of the essence of something inside them. The Elves mostly chose the essence of Middle-Earth, in order to preserve it. Putting it inside a small yet near indestructible trinket would have shielded it against corruption and decay, in addition to allowing th...

Well she didn't really harm him.
Either he was still weak enough to be beaten.
Or he retreated - its not like there was much in Dol Guldur to fight for. As a trap for the White Council it was valuable, that trap had been sprung and turned out to be inefficient.

EVE scares me. It doesn't sound so much 'cool space sim' as it sounds more like 'cutthroat mercantile space sim full of assholes who will waste your butt in two microseconds for an extra cred unless you pay/grind your way up to insane levels' sometimes... 3. Galadriel vs Sauron. *whistles* Yes, she went full "Queen, all will love me and despair", but if you pay attention, look at what's in her hand. She's holding a Flask. A glowing flask, very much like the one she gave to Samwise Gamgee to "help him in dark places". Despite usin...

Re: The Hobbit - Battle of the Five Armies (Spoliers)
Lot's of stupid over-the-top scenes that could have been just as awesome if done in a smart way. Best example IMO: the moment where the elves decide to join forces with the dwarves by jumping over their shield wall. Instead of that, you could have just built on previous displays of elven prowess and...

He has a point that "sexual assault" is extremely broad and can mean everything from an unwanted pat on the butt to a vicious gang rape. As a guy I can't say that I truly understand how women feel about the topic, but in my mind there's a vast gulf between the two. The former (a pat on th...

Speaking of orbital strikes, they are one of my current issues with the game: You can't clear enemy satellites out, other than by bringing artillery right next to them to shoot them down. Whats the point of armed satellites if they can't shoot down enemy ones? I really love the orbital system otherw...

Well, its as addictive as every good Civilisation-game. Also, pretty bug-free as far as i can tell - the worst i had happen to me so far was one leader complaining about the same thing over and over again - that being the destruction of a neutral station, which i did not repeat. Heck, going through transition during puberty actually reduces a lot of risks. Assuming supportive parents (and the existence of non-supportive parents should not be a legal argument to prevent early transition) the transitioning person will likely have much more emotional and financial support than...

Shouldn't a person delay the "transition" until he or she is at least 18, legally considered an adult, more likely to be financially independent (and less likely to be affected if a parent considers his or her behavior to be "freakish," and takes measures to "discipline&quo...

Gender is complicated. Not only is it not tied to biological sex, its also not binary. Meaning that there are people who genuinely do not identify as either male or female. To at least some degree the idea of gender is a social construct, though the degree is hotly contested. Yes, there are certain ...

But then again, who needs internal consistency when you have bigotry.

Re: Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl returns to active duty after therapy.
Getting back into a controlled daily routine can be highly helpful with therapy. Of course that only applies if the routine isn't too stressful or triggering the trauma again.
So if thats the case and he continues his therapy, this is actually a good thing.

Class teachers. That is, teachers who stick with a single class for most of that classes time. Who are responsible for the social cohesion, issues and general well-being of that class. In Germany we do that in a half-decent way for the first four years of school, where a single teacher can handle mo...
