Technically they did. They have a rabbit skull somewhere as an Easter Egg.

EDIT: It's a TCW episode, "A Sunny Day in the Void" - which means it's Canon.

Re: Repub scum bring us one step closer to proper wage slavery.

What makes getting time-in-lieu instead of overtime pay, wage slavery? The fact that many states allow employers to arbitrarily dictate when your paid time off is used, which means that even though you are technically earning a form of extra pay for the overtime, you are not guaranteed to receive a...

Re: Repub scum bring us one step closer to proper wage slavery.

The state I'm in allows PTO to expire without payout. I believe the rule is that PTO only has to be paid out if it is company policy to do so. I'm only allowed to carry 200 hours between fiscal years. So, if this applied to me, and I accrued PTO faster than I could use it, my employer wins because ...

Re: Repub scum bring us one step closer to proper wage slavery.

Can the employer include as part of the contract that the employee is required to take PTO over OT? No, the law specifically prohibits this option being required as a condition of employment. Which you couldn't do for a new hire anyway, because you'd need to have "worked at least 1,000 hours f...

Re: Repub scum bring us one step closer to proper wage slavery.

Frankly, quite a few people would opt for comp time over time-and-a-half as long as they get to make the choice . Some people need time as much or more than they need more money. That said, I'm always concerned about the potential abuse of employees by employers. They do get to make the choice. The...

Re: Repub scum bring us one step closer to proper wage slavery.

What makes getting time-in-lieu instead of overtime pay, wage slavery? It doesn't, especially since it's not actually mandatory under the House version, which Trump said is good enough for him to sign as-is. Hell they can even revoke the PTO clause and go back to regular time-and-a-half pay if they...

Re: The Principality of SD.net (RAR!)

I have serious doubts that the people actually qualified in any way to run the new 'order' will actually be listened to, and civil war will break out quickly. Therefore, I'm getting the hell out of dodge for this one. This. I find my Space Pistol and end it in the honorable manner, because that wil...

Re: Versus Series: Ship Combat in Star Wars (Revived)

The fact remains all sides replace them. The Empire especially as the successor state to the Republic had access to the entire inventory and production line of all those fighters and consciously chose to shut them down and replace them with the TIEs. This is the same Empire that was on one of the l...

Re: Versus Series: Ship Combat in Star Wars (Revived)

Have we seen known Venetor era embarked fighter models engage with OT period fighters? Because if the level of tech and power increase between capital ships of that era holds true for fighters none of the Venetors' spacewings are going to amount to much. Even their anti ship weapons might be like B...

Picard was also in charge of a couple of ships in "Descent", in which the Enterprise and two other ships were patrolling for Borg incursions into Federation space, with Picard delegating orders to the other ships. Ah, thanks. Looked it up on Memory Alpha. This one makes perfect sense, act...

Re: Should Picard have been promoted?

There does seem to be an unstated 'Captain of the Flagship is above any other captain' thing going on too. We see him direct fleet actions on occasion. Out of curiosity, because I don't recall all seven seasons, which occasions were this? The only one I can think of is that tachyon net thing, but t...

[This isn't the first time this crops up in Zahn's fiction set in Star Wars. The same happened in Legends novel Allegiance - except that time it was an ISB colonel and Captain Ozzel of Imperial Navy. I don't know why this keeps happening, unless Zahn has been told to use that Essential Guide to War...

Re: Imperial Rank Insignia Discussion

I like the idea of Blue being Starfleet, Red being Major Facility and Amber being Administrative. That's fine, but I'm starting to lean toward the idea that the quantity, color and arrangement of the squares on their badges are all equally significant and may indicate more than just rank. After all...

- Barry talking to his dad in jail Is this a comics thing for him, or are they taking it from the show? But they are on the Rebel side already, just not ready for combat. We saw Home One in Secret Cargo. Was that Home One? That could've just been Raddus' ship... So far I have not seen one of the 26th century dreadnoughts on the exchange. This has its own built in gravitic lance. I am now getting one of the MACO sets from the Omega reputation, once I get all 3 I can have a gravitic lance bonus. It would be great if I could get the 26th century dreadnought a...

There is the famous pottery in this duel, but this is not it. Obi-Wan changes stances from RotS Obi-Wan to not anything resembling ANH but to TPM Qui-Gon. A fuller review of the episode: This was a pretty great episode. The visuals were fantastic and top notch, Tatooine is beautiful at night! Kevin Kiner outdid himself on the musical front, both with original material and weaving in themes from the PT (Maul's chanting theme from TPM) and t...
