Re: Uk Referendum on The EU Announced for 23rd June.
I don't really have much to add to the argument for and against remain/leave other than personal anecdotes. I opted for remain because while we do spend a fair amount to prop up the European project, we also gain a huge amount back, both in support for impoverished areas, ailing agriculture and supp...

Re: Doctor Who season 9 E 12 - heaven sent
Try posting in the right thread next time - some us have yet to see Hell Bent. Not appreciated. Hell Bent is listed as episode 11 of this series. My title posted this as episode 12. I mean, how much more clearer can it be that its after Hell Bent? You are wrong. Heaven Sent is the 11th episode and ...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Get both the assimilated console and the kinetic cutting beam and don't take them off. Ever.
There is not a build in STO where those two items are not utilized because they are that good.

Re: World of Warships
What the others are saying is accurate - PVE is shit for rewards. Completely and utterly. By switching to pvp, you will double (at least) your potential rewards. If you are any way at all competent, you will find it easy enough to break 1k reward for a decent battle. Secondly, if you have limited pl...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
That is not a bug. You have a STRONGER ship than the zen variant you can buy with currency other than zen. What did you expect? That is the trade-off. If you purchase a ship through a fleet, you get the upgraded hull and console slots, but you do not get the trait or the special console. The main dr...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Some of the inflation on the exchange is natural - quite a few of the items available simply aren't easily available anymore or are from lockboxes now out of circulation. You can see a prime example of this in old consoles such as the leech and ground traits from lockboxes. Both are skyrocketing in ...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
I thought gold farming was a problem mainly for subscription fee based MMORPGs like WoW, where everyone is supposed to be "equal" because they all pay the same monthly fee. In free to play but pay to win, or at least close to pay to win MMORPGs it seems to be the natural evolution. Why wo...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
I wouldn't have minded if they'd given us some kind of battlezone on the scale of sector space where players could voluntarily accept to join that instance and they'd have the "iconian war" to deal with, while the leveling zones are left untouched. There were plenty of options that would h...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
They have been doing the featured episode additional rewards since early season 10. Each FE is usually good for either four spec points or four tech tokens before it's added into the normal story rotation. It's just a matter of recording when you did the mission and waiting a week. Additional reward...

There are also the Event Ships, which are T6 these days. So 14 days of grinding on one account, but then you get a discount for all of your other characters. Unfortunately you just missed the Summer Event, so you'll probably need to wait for the Winter Event. Then there's the Anniversary Event whic...

Whatever floats your boat, but I think you'll regret it eventually given they are just not efficient in the long run. As to my offer - this goes to anyone in this thread If you wish superior upgrade kits for any r&d school and cannot yet create your own, just let me know what kits you are after ...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Once you pass 50, hitting cap with dilithium is ludicrously easy and there is no real way of increasing it past having spent a huge amount of time/money subbing. Given the existance of the cap and just how *much* end game content relies on having dilithium to spend, I'm always going to treat dilithi...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Stupid edit timeout For the same dilithium cost, you can get two superior kits (27k techpoints) for 300 more dilithium spent this is gibberish. What I meant to say was it'll cost less dilithium to apply two superior kits than three improved, for more tech points. The only thing you spend more of is ...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Uh, Simon? Dilithium is FAR harder to come by at end game with the daily cap if you are not prepared to buy it. Your idea is backwards. This will save you EC, that's true but it will cost you up to three times the dilithium for every three kits. A superior kit costs 1k dilithium to apply. To match t...

Re: World of Warships
Yep, generally you are best starting as many fires as you can when facing a battleship in a cruiser - unless the enemy captain is good, it can be very unnerving to have your entire boat be on fire/burning to the waterline. Even more so when you finally reach the Cleveland and can just rain HE down o...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Funnily enough I find I used Engineering and Science abilities from my bridge officers more than tactical. That's because the good tactical skills only really kick in at lieutenant commander bridge officer slots and as a cruiser, without buying one from the c-store, you have zeeeero options for tha...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Generally speaking, only t5 ships purchased with zen are upgradeable. There are a few exceptions you can pick up for credits though, such as the APU battleship and the Malon Battlecruiser. Given that t6 ships are cheaper than a t5 hull + upgrade token though, you are probably better off buying one o...

Re: World of Warships
Ship statistics are not modified in port, or in tooltips when you add modules to them, but that gun firing control system 1 futher increases the range from 15.6 out to roughly 18km.
This can be seen when aiming down the range finder and moving to your max available range to fire.

Re: World of Warships
Ah, the New York. Finally, a battleship that understands that its job is to outrange cruisers. Well, the New York just barely out ranges cruisers - it's range is still short compared to the Kongo (a Much better BB in my opinion). Do you not have access to modules for ships or something? The New Yor...

Re: Should I try out Star Trek Online?
Once you hit end game and have an alt or three, you can earn upwards of a couple hundred zen a week if you grind up their dilithium supplies and convert them into zen - it is a good way to buy lower tier ships for their consoles that does not involve spending actual money. Ofcourse, at end game you ...

The Warspite is...angry. In other news, I've been working back up the US cruiser and battlebote line as my goals for open are the Cleveland and probably an Iowa. I have to say though, the best match I've had tonight was with Caoimhin in our Warspites. We were massively out-tiered and ended up faced ...

Re: XCOM 2 to launch in November
Wut? If you don't count reckless adding of DLC protagonists to the team, these were the most enjoyable parts of the game. The whale mission in Canada was by far the best, showing a glimpse of Xcom that didn't looked like action movie. Just a chilling example of what even weakest aliens can do given...
