Re: Michael Gove proposes longer school day and shorter holi
You're talking at cross purposes here ford, Zaune is talking about the chance of political currency being spent on it and the probability that it will just result in a shafting for those with problems while you're talking about the practical problems which have nothing to do with getting people to a...

Re: First International Punishment of the US for Gitmo.
First a quick question, it says 73% there...assuming for the sake of argument that its correct...what about the other 27% then? There is also the slightly larger issue of independent inquiry rather than "9/10 true believers believe!" which really doesnt do much for your case. You've not pr...

Criminals also get to have a day in court, and a definitive punishment for their crimes. They know when it will be over, can be visited by family and have the right of appeal against the charges. They also aren't subject to enhanced interrogation techniques and inhumane conditions (Joe Arpiao not wi...

Re: Margaret Thatcher dies at 87
You mean those that by proportion pay less tax than anyone else, right? Here's an idea, since her family is worth well into the tens of millions, how about they front up the full cost for a royal funeral for her (it is after all likely to cost more than the queen mother or diana at this point)? We c...

Particularly when the bill turns up and is into the tens of millions...though it might be more entertaining to express it in terms of number of nurses or teachers it would pay for.

Re: Margaret Thatcher dies at 87
So, estimates of the cost of her funeral are up to 10 million, and members of the Tory party are insisting that the country can afford it. A far cry from the austerity shit they've been making everyone else chew on.

Re: Margaret Thatcher dies at 87
Celebration parties to me are a bit much. I don't care for "don't speak ill of the dead", but on the other hand it must suck for her family to have stuff like that right after she's died. I thought her son was still in jail for plotting a coup to claim his own african kingdom? Nah he got ...

Almost certainly Siege. I personally don't believe in not speaking ill of the dead, particularly since I was more than happy to speak ill of her while she was alive too...dropping dead doesn't change that.

Iain Banks has terminal cancer
Author Iain Banks has revealed that he has late stage cancer and is unlikely to live for more than a year. The Scottish writer posted a message on his official website saying his next novel The Quarry, due to be published later this year, would be his last. The 59-year-old's novels include The Wasp...

The wardens swords are enchanted to cut through magical wards and protections...though, of more interesting note is that they're also quite happy to carry explosives and guns. Able to stand up to punishment in a medieval/fantasy setting and being able to do so in a more modern one are somewhat diffe...

Re: Senior Council vs The Ten Who Were Taken
There's a few things worth noting: 1. The provision of not using magic to kill only seems to apply to mortals, ie those that are totally mundane. They're also not barred from using other means to kill mortals, and they have the distinct advantage in that front of being part of a modern setting. Hard...

Re: What's a good oldish free MMORPG to play nowadays?
I've played LOTRO as well, it's not as well put together as DDO. Also, turbine points drop pretty thick and fast in DDO, you get them free when you complete new quests on a character, so it's easy enough to get more adventure packs and stuff.

I'm quite a fan of Dungeons & Dragons Online (DDO) it should run fine on your setup there, is f2p these days and is still adding quite a bit of new content. If you do decide to give it a go, look me up on the Thelanis server and I'll hook you up with some gear.

G Sara Reedy remembers clearly the start of her ordeal, and how surprisingly painful it was to have a gun jammed to her temple. Then her attacker demanded oral sex, saying he would shoot her if she refused. She was shaking, gagging. "I had images of my family finding me dead," she told th...

Just swap out the stealers for termagaunts and keep the same ruleset. Well, part of the reason I went for Guard vs Stealers is because I have a stripped-down Space Hulk set with only the stealers and the cardboard bits, and a Guard army. :D There are old rules from the Citadel Journal for guard in ...
