Re: Do you have a Sci Fi universe?
These answers pertain to a universe I started in my wide-eyed teenage-years. I've since tried to tweak a few things to be less over the top, but there's only so much that can be done without gutting the whole setting and starting over. Alas. That's why I've moved on to writing 'realistic' fantasy-ba...

Re: OSAMA BIN LADEN DEAD
There's remarkably little hate to be had in New York, tonight. I do not exaggerate when I say the crowds are passing 'round brown-bagged bottles and that particular corner has a pall of marijuana smoke. And despite people being drunk and high there's nobody inciting anything. Lots of USA chants, pat...

Re: Possible tactic against the Death Star?
Just read the relevant section and there's no suggestion that this happens. It mentions twenty seconds of constant fire 'opened a hole' in the lower shield. You may be getting confused with Star By Star, where Courscant's defences are lowered rather than let civilians ship to smash right into them....

But, the key point there, the dreadnought blew through two layers of what are apprently the best shields in the galaxy. Obviously they are less effective stopping stuff going out than in but it's still an impressive feat I haven't posted here in some time, and it's been even longer since I've read ...

Re: Fall of the Lich King - Patch 3.3
They said that a long time ago, Serafina, so that's not a retcon. It's been explicitly stated that the reason the Scourge hasn't buttfucked everything is because what's left of Arthas has been influencing the Lich King to hold them back as best he could. Of course this explicit statement, as well a...

I'll throw myself in here as well. I used to post quasi-regularly for a few months last year, though my activity tapered off once I lost the office job that allowed me to slack off and browse the internet during the day. I still lurk, however. With Christmas break coming up it's likely I'll shift ba...

Re: Tau in the Old Republic era Star Wars galaxy
Rabbit is correct. As far as I can recall, and I've read a lot of fluff pertaining to the fall, there is no direct statement that addresses whether or not the creation of Slaanesh was a conscious act. The majority of it simply reads along the lines of, "after centuries of decadence, a vile God ...

Alexander was long dead. I believe the legend refers to the Pyrrhic Wars when referencing the Romans, and also crops up during the wars of succession amongst the Diadochi where Antipater is alleged to have employed them.Sarevok wrote: What ? Alexander had an elephant army he used against Romans ?

Smoke Free
About six weeks ago I resolved to quit smoking. At the time, I had the flu really bad, and was hacking up a lung, pretty close to literally. In one of those phelgm-infested wretches, I had an epiphany. That I, a smoker since age 14 (I'm 21 now) really needed to knock this shit off. This was no way t...

Re: How far north would one have to go to avoid cockroaches?
Oh, and if you forget and leave them in the bottle too long, they start cannibalising each other. That's the most epic thing I've read all day. I live in New York City, and I haven't had more than the occasional run-in with roaches. This is probably because I'm fairly stringent about keeping my apa...

If it's the former I would like to request some sort of retention of the liver. So I can wreck it again.

I live and work in New York City, so it's got to be really fucking bad to keep the subways from running. It hasn't happened yet, either -- my company, however, doesn't give us a cap on days absent. There's just an unwritten "don't be a douchebag" rule, which the managers will rip you out f...

Man. I despise that fight. As the designated Sartharion-tank healer, the time from Shadron landing to the last drake dying is a terrible strain on the integrity of my sphincter.
But my guild needs to try that. Maybe even with a Doomguard.

Re: Redesigning the total war battle system from scratch
Well to be fair to ray245 you could simulate Roman era battles inside the Matrix and some of the players would still be complaining about balance issues. :) Like who, the Gauls? Another idea I had was rather simple. When I have a one or more Army stacks in proximity and a battle occurs so tha...
