Re: Testing Limit of Autodelete
I don't think that some aspects of "testing culture" are going to go away unless you burn them out (by banning certain posters). Perhaps the implicit approval of "I don't mind what you are doing, but do it somewhere else" would make a good stopgap solution? Again though, this is...

Re: Ending the Testing Forum
It serves no more purpose than the preview function or PMing people to ask their opinions, get rid. Uh..it allows people to test things? Like flash, embedding, strikethrough, polls, titles, etc. And get sig/avatar opinions. ...But you can do those things just as easily with the preview function and...

Re: Stardock CEO Boycotts UPS Over Fox News
Ha ha ha, wow, I guess I never paid Brad much attention outside of the games section of the Quarter to Three forums. He had a big tantrum in the politics forum there (his posts start on page 15) and in a thread about this on Penny Arcade's forums too. Look, I don't want to be harsh here but I don't ...

Re: Another public breastfeeding story
Who here has actually posted that partners should be distant, unsupporting, and leave all of the child rearing to the mother? Well it was strongly implied when you said: My wife couldn't breastfeed, as in she couldn't physically produce enough milk, but our son is a strong, healthy, allergy free to...

Re: Why didn't games like World in Conflict retain popularity?
I've slowly come to the conclusion that indie developers need digital distribution and to make a game very cheaply so that it only has to sell a few thousand copies to break even. That means graphics that look like something from a few years ago, but luckily games looked really good a few years ago...

Re: God I love Crusader: No Remorse
Well, the Origin tech page seems to have the patch...and I vaguely recall downloading it from there last time I set Crusader up on my computer. Man...once I've replaced my comp's dead screen I think I'll load Crusader up again, I recall the music in that game as being pretty rocksome.

I just find the fact that the words small , parent(s)(ing) , and children , are always bright red, to be hilarious. It makes it difficult for me to read the rant without simply glossing over everything that isn't " SMALL CHILDREN SMALL CHILDREN CHILDREN PARENTS OF SMALL CHILDREN SMALL CHILDREN ...

Oh man, those walkers....they look so bad.
Like one of those old Kenner toys that was similar to a vehicle from the movies but was like, too short, or had fold out wings or some other weird difference that just ended up making it look wrong.

I have no idea so I'll take your word for it. What are my options for PCI? Or is this where I'm SOL? You're SOL. Umm...I'm pretty sure he isn't...my crappy little P4 with an AGP 6800 can handle 1680x1050 resolution and hi-def video just fine. This is a list of cards I found on Newegg I think are probably along the lines of what you'll want.

Re: Widescreen LCD Image Scaling Issue
Hmpf, some games scale, some games don't. Yeah, I really do think it's because nVidia broke something in their recent drivers. Because I seriously can't force most of the graphics settings I should be able to for some of my older games (like Startopia and Anachronox) anymore, despite being able to ...

Re: Widescreen LCD Image Scaling Issue
Since this is about image scaling, I might as well toss in the question here. How do you go about configuring image scaling in the first place? I've never done it before and I would like to know how I can set it to scale old games that use 4:3 resolutions. Well, I don't know if this is what you wan...

Re: Widescreen LCD Image Scaling Issue
Yeah probably, I have noticed that a few of my tweaks for some older 3D games seem to have stopped working as well since the last few driver installs too, which is a shame because Startopia actually looks pretty rad with like, anisotropy and AA and stuff turned to eleven.

Re: Widescreen LCD Image Scaling Issue
You can choose whether the scaling is done with the cards hardware or the monitors in the nvidia control panel (the advanced one), also just a note that the max refresh on that monitor is 75Hz, not all LCD's are locked at 60 now days. The first thing I'd do is uninstall the monitor driver, windows ...

Widescreen LCD Image Scaling Issue
Okay, so I'm having confusing trouble getting my monitor and GFX card to play nice vis image scaling. I'm using the latest drivers for both my GFX card and monitor, and near...
